Ok please ignore this peeps - I found the 'Start with OS' option in the nav menu. I thought the 'Startup' button was 'Start with OS' button. doh!

My copy does the same thing.
It never opens with windows start when the option is checked.

Not sure if this will help you, but I will try. I think you are getting confused between 2 options that are poorly worded:
 
- "START UP OFF/ON" option on the main screen: Only controls whether a profile is automatically applied at Windows startup. It does not control whether PrecisionX itself starts.
- SETTINGS -> GENERAL -> START WITH OS checkbox: This actually controls whether PrecisionX itself starts at Windows startup.
 
Use the tooltips to confirm, by hovering your mouse over the options for a little bit of time. And if you are wanting to control whether PrecisionX itself starts at Windows startup, you need to be using/checking the second option.
 
EVGA: You can do better to make these options clearer.

Thanks it was Starting to get annoying

I downloaded todays update,now it won't open at all.

I am having the exact same issue.  I am uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times.  I'll get it working after uninstalling (make sure to delete EVGA folder in your programsX86 from old install before reinstalling) and I will set fan curve settings and set to start on startup as other poster noted and then the application will not actually launch.  It shows in task manager but that is it.   Literally been troubleshooting this for an hour before stumbling on to this post.  Glad I am not alone.

All of you should go to the release sticky, and download the hot fix. The release sticky, at the top of everyone's page, will give the most up to date Information.

If you open the software forum, it is in the very top of the page, says "precision x16 5.3.9 released"

I have the same problem with the latest version 5.3.10, with the option Start With OS checked. I also included Precision X16 in Windows Startup folder. All other program in Startup folder start up fine excepth Precision X16 !
 
Do EVGA developers even about this issue ? From what I remember this pesky problem has existed since the last 4-5 versions ago.

I am having the same issue, windows 8.1. However my "Start up on (Windows)" option is checked and I have to start it manually 3 times or so before it kicks on.

I have the same issue. The program doesn't start with the OS, and I have to manually turn it on about 3 times. Sometimes, it loads up in task manager, and it's only EVGA precision x16 with no server. I have to end the task manually, and load it again, then it will load the servers and work.

Hello everyone! I have something here that I'd Very Much like to share with you all regarding this problem of PrecisionX 16 not starting up with Windows as I have found at least 1 100% Useable, (For me, at least and hopefully Everyone Else too), way to get PrecisionX 16 to start up at boot time Every Time. I thought the first part of this solution up based on previous experience with Windows Operating Systems since getting involved with them back in Windows 95's dayz and Fortunately, with the help of another computer user, it worked. (At least for now as of the date and time of this post, it's working Flawlessly, anyhow.....) The procedure is pretty simple, but as with LOTS of issues regarding computers, things Have Got to be done in a certain way or nothings' gonna' work right. So, here's what I did:
 
First, I made a new .txt file and renamed it with a .bat extension. Then, I went in an edited it using various different approaches for executing the main PrecisionX_x64.exe program file which all failed for various different reasons like getting error messages like, "Can't load default PrecisionX skin file", etc. Finally, after tinkering around for awhile, (And to make a longer story short), I came up with the format that worked. The following texts were put into my final version of my .bat file:
 
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\
start "" "PrecisionX_x64.exe"
 
As mentioned before, I was able to come up with this solution with the PRICELESS help of someone else who posted their solution to their similar problem to my own of not being able to have the CMD window close down after successful executing of their program that they also wanted to have run with a .bat file and combining my idea with theirs allowed me to come up with this workaround. *SINCEREST* *THANKS* go out to "Cubert aka (Cube Dweller)" for their AWESOME contribution of this info that they shared!! As you can see, there's a CLEVER little addition to the Second command line texts where just before the program's name is put in in quotes, 2 initial quotes are placed just before it to cause the CMD program to actually close itself down after executing the "PrecisionX_x64.exe" program itself. (I personally had NEVER heard of doing that before, but it worked like a friggin' Charm)!!
 
Then, I put that .bat file into my C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\ directory, made a Shortcut to it and put that Shortcut into my old Windows 7 "Startup" Start Menu directory, (As I had upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Ultimate a few weeks ago), edited the properties of that Shortcut and made sure that the "Run" function was set to "Minimized" so that when it ran at boot time that it would run in the task bar area for a nicer looking boot up process, (Just for the heck of it), and now, my PrecisionX 16 program boots Just Fine Every Time.    ;)
 
(Sorry for the long winded explanation everyone, but I thought it might make for some interesting reading so I got a little verbose about the whole thing. I hope you all don't mind).    ;)

RawCore (and Cubert), you are my saviour. I tried everything from reinstalling with reboot and running CCleaner several times over switching from steam version to standard version to manually adding it to the startup folder. Nothing helped. But this one little .bat file that I have in there now does the job perfectly well.
