I have an Evga GTX 760 SC with ACX cooling, I have noticed that if I use the aggressive fan setting the temperatures are consistent and my FPS in-game is solid. But, could this shorten my fans operational life? the fans usually run around 50/70% when under load. I do not wish to damage my GPU, and since the temps never go above 74c while In-game on a hot day, as appose to 80/85c without....is it worth it?

Running anything mechanical continuously will eventually cause it to fail, but with the fans having an MBTF of 50,000 hours or more, you're fine to push them a little more. It's better to keep the card cool.

Personally, I set a fan profile to keep the GPU at a max of ~78C or just under the throttle point which is around 80C. In other words, create a profile with a gradual increase in fan speed to where your max fan speed is attained at ~78C.  With any kind of decent air flow in your case, you should be able to strike a good balance between noise and temp.
