I saw an article over on TweakGuides about a issue with DX12 on NVidia 900 series cards. I hope I didn't get a screwing buying 2 titan x"s

It certainly looks like someone at nVidia dropped the ball on this one but I'm not really worried too much about it yet. I remember when DX-10 was the biggest thing to hit the graphics community since the beginning of time and look what happened there. Just my thoughts on the subject but I'm still upset about buying a DX-12 video board that can't support it.

are you guys sure that this isn't just someones monopolistic little game? DX12 is close but it isn't , until we get DX12 coded games i wouldn't jump to any conclusions at this point. I've found an article on wccftech( i know it's a rumor galore site) and other sites that neither "camp" doesn't actually have FULL support for DX12 , and if you think about it's close to the truth. as far as i know we have that Ashes of singularity "demo" that is probably written to get better performance on AMD chips, wow much performance very next gen, i'm gonna faint. i would like to remind you guys that nvidia currently has 80%+ market share over AMD and there's a reason for that. patience is a virtue , we can post comments but any other rage/madness/other loss of energy is unnecessary from my point of view.

no cards on the market fully support DX12. Even AMD. Until real games come out besides that crap game benchmark call Ashes of the Singularity . Enjoy kicking AMD butt with your two beast card. You can google more about AMD Robert telling people about AMD not fully support DX either.

I'd rather have the achievement for disobeying. Anyway, I'm not going to get excited at this point until we see a number of games out as Sajin and others suggest that have been tested and bench marked by multiple sites. We have seen AMD release all the numbers on Fury X that were cherry picked and NVIDIA having to release drivers to bring Kepler back up to speed.

what I think about this compatibility and support topic? until they really start using the DX12's potential in an meaningful manner most of us would have already changed the GPU's at least once. so no need to worry about it...

I love how everyone was so stuck on the "DX12 vram stacking will be incredible" and now one crap benchmark has destroyed so many hopes and dreams.
Thankfully most everyone in this thread is using patience instead of overreacting, but it is amusing to watch the hordes that immediately panic.
I wonder how many people are focused on vram stacking now?

I just sat and went over that AotS benching in some more detail. I have zero concerns based on the way the increases are shown. There are zero direct comparisons. None. This test basically showed what gains can be achieved on poor processors and there is a discrepancy with regard to the test on the TX and 5960 as there is a decrease in performance. No more comments from me until we see benches from other programs anyway, but there are issues in this one in the testing methodology to begin with.

So, they are already backtracking... http://www.overclock.net/t/1569897/various-ashes-of-the-singularity-dx12-benchmarks/2130#post_24379702 Regarding Async compute, a couple of points on this. FIrst, though we are the first D3D12 title, I wouldn't hold us up as the prime example of this feature. There are probably better demonstrations of it. This is a pretty complex topic and to fully understand it will require significant understanding of the particular GPU in question that only an IHV can provide. I certainly wouldn't hold Ashes up as the premier example of this feature. We actually just chatted with Nvidia about Async Compute, indeed the driver hasn't fully implemented it yet, but it appeared like it was. We are working closely with them as they fully implement Async Compute. We'll keep everyone posted as we learn more. Also, we are pleased that D3D12 support on Ashes should be functional on Intel hardware relatively soon, (actually, it's functional now it's just a matter of getting the right driver out to the public). EDIT: I know Scarlet, I know. I made another comment. It was just to make a point about how everyone ran with this so quickly. Now I wait to see if there is anything to this.

At least they are explaining themselves a little more clearly right now. They, too, jumped to conclusions for the quick views and instant recognition as "the ones that discovered the next big Nvidia flaw". All in due time :-)

Well, def take it with a grain of salt.... either way. Im sure after the rumor mill started churning, Nvidia went and got the bigger stick to wave at Oxide for their transgression, lol. Especially being that they "just chatted with Nvidia about Async compute". Either it works or it doesn't.... like being pregnant. :P
