Tweaked
Being in the automation and control industry, things like this are a bit of a threat honestly.  As more mega companies like Google and Amazon come out with these products that integrate with other "Smart" products, they simplify automation and control of simple home technology, and they do it on such a mass market that the other guys have a hard time competing.  I'll give you an example.  If I wanted to automate a light like in the amazon commercial, I would need the following products from a control company like AMX, Crestron, or Extron.

1x keypad with integrated control processor and control ports
1x Occupancy Sensor
1x Wireless gateway
1x wireless dimmer module

These items retail for close to $1600.  Compare that to the below.

1x Amazon Echo
1x Phillips 452714 LED kit

Which retail for a total of $260

While that's true you're only viewing it from one side of the equation.

Companies goals = Make $$
Goals of people = Save $$

It's not our fault that technology is advancing and lowering the cost. I'd much rather spend $260 versus $1600, especially if I have to fork out that money. Those companies simply need to invest in other methods to still make money while saving the consumer money.

Sure some people love to blow me, on the other hand I don't. I buy shoes at Walmart/Academy. I'm not going to pay $150 for shoes that a $30 pair that look nice can get me and last just as long. For this reason I don't buy Mercedes, BMW and the rest.

How come the Youtube video has all the comments disabled and the like button disabled? Its probably because they probably had people giving it dislikes and saying how much an invasion of privacy this device does.  Anyways Agent8 is right about what he said. Basically my phone does the same exact thing. I hardly even use the "OK Google" feature anyways on my Nexus 6. I guess people are so lazy now days just type whatever it is in Google.

The person that posts the video can disable comments. As for the dislike button and stuff... I see it and it seems to work, the results are not public though. The person who owns the channel is the one that chooses those options.
