I have a TORQ X5 Mouse and when I scroll down with the scroll wheel it jumps down a line or two then jumps back to the top of the page. Scrolling up work fine with no issue. I have EVGA Unleash ver.1.012 installed.
How I can fix this? I want to scroll up and down the IE pages like a normal mouse.

Hello TimP
I installed my X5 mouse in another usb port and my OS installed it with drivers, still have the same problem with the scroll wheel.
So I installed the mouse on another PC and then a ASUS laptop, still have the same issue.
I have reinstalled my old Logitech MX510 mouse and the scroll wheel work fine. Is there anything else I could try?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. I've checked mice on two devices (both with Win10) and on both I still got the same issue.
And also, my scrollwheel does a loud and annoying "click" sound when scrolling "up". Its nice and quiet when scrolling down. Is that normal?

I have the same issue with my X10 Torq. Really annoying.
In Win 10 I've tried changing every setting in the mouse menu with no difference.
Any other mouse does no have the issue with scrolling.
Please come up with a firmware fix?

Having the same issue here. Mine is skipping scrolling both ways. I went into windows mouse properties and changed it to scroll 5 lines instead of 3 a few minutes ago and so far it's not skipping...  I guess I will register it and go on to the next step if it continues. Also still waiting to hear for a resolution for the wrong Lanyard that was sent to me.

I've checked mice on my mate's win 8.1 laptop and it works completly fine, still got problems on Win10 based machines. Well, I'm going to ask for refund from evga. I was looking for good mice couple of weeks and it seems I choose wrong.

My x3 and x5 are still scrolling all over the place no matter what computer I use. I have read countless reviews where this is an issue. Is there still no fix yet?

Good call on turning down the number of lines scrolled; I went from 3 down to 1 and the problem is much more manageable. Still a problem if I scroll quickly in games, though.

I have two of these mice and it doesn't happen on my Windows 7 computer at all. Only on the Windows 10 one.

Running one of the first ever released x10 carbon mouses here. No problems scrolling in windows 7/10.

Notes: I've never updated the firmware since the day I bought it.

I just tested the X5 and X5L.  I was able to reproduce the problem, however it is more prevalent with the X5L.  I have sent this on to our engineers with all of my testing data and see if we can get a fix for this ASAP.

Just an update, the engineers have a few variants and I provided them with all of my testing details, they are still looking for a root cause, this issue has NOT been forgotten about.

I have set mine to one line as well and is now working OK.
My scroll wheel when going backwards (Clockwise) feels like it is crunching on something.
Other then the Crunching it is work fine.

Update: 20 Dec 2015
I did send my Mouse back on an RMA because of the Wheel.
The only problem would be if the tester tested it for only a minute and not use it for 30 minutes or so the see what the Wheel is doing.

Any word from the engineers about a fix for this problem?
I'd sure love to use my new TORQ X5 Mouse to play Fallout 4
instead of my old Logitech mouse.

Re: Torq mx5 scrolling issue 2015/12/27 09:36:23 (permalink)
Seriously getting fed up of this mouse, as much as I enjoy the shape/size of it the faults are becoming too much.
I'm currently on my third EVGA TORQ X5 as I had to return two due to the grip of the mouse wheel coming loose with friction, then jamming at times when scrolling with it.(each time this happened within first 1-2 weeks)
Now the first thing I noticed with my current X5 is the problem stated in this thread, and it is quite alarming to see actually how old this issue is with no real solution at all from EVGA?
I'm on Windows 10 also here similar to others, with latest firmware installed on the mouse and have tried different USB slots including 2.0 and 3.0 but makes no difference as the problem still remains either way.

The last two X5's I never had this problem but since I have already returned this mouse twice to amazon I'm not willing to risk my account being banned by returning a third back to them, so it seems I'm stuck with a dead end mouse with no real support.
As much as I wish I could just get over it and use an alternative mouse, I'm already in a fairly limited market being left handed and interested in only a few select sensors and shapes.

I literally just unboxed my new X5 bought from Amazon a couple minutes ago and I'm scrolling in Firefox and having the exact same problem. When I scroll up it works fine but when I scroll down it scrolls down for a second then jumps back up a couple lines. It seems to happen only when I scroll fast, if I scroll 1 notch at a time slowly it doesn't seem to happen.

OMG I'm in the same situation. left-handed user limited market...  I also like the shape of this mouse a lot but this scroll wheel is terrible.

This is really disappointing.

I turned the scroll speed down to 1 and sort of just put up with it for the time being as well as trying not to scroll as much as I used to.
But now that you mentioned it I've put the scroll speed back to default and you are right, it seems to have fixed itself which is really strange.

Re: Torq mx5 scrolling issue 2016/03/29 11:53:20 (permalink)
ok I'm quoting myself.... but it seems the scrolling issue is back again for no reason at all. Also it doesn't happen all the time just randomly in *some* applications. Like when I play games scroll through weapons with the wheel is ok but when I'm scrolling a webpage sometimes it scrolls down then back up a line or two. As well as in the picture viewer application I use, when I scroll through pictures sometimes it would scroll to next picture then scroll back to the previous so fast all I see is a flashing and then I'm still at the same picture as if I didn't scroll at all.
:(
This is really strange...

edit 1: never mind I can't quote myself but my previous post is here
http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2432117

edit 2: I just want to say I love this mouse very much except this wheel.... EVGA please release a fixed batch? since you already confirmed the existence of this problem yourself...

edit 3: ONLY SCROLL DOWN has this problem like said on the first post. scroll up seems perfectly fine.

I'm glad it is working perfectly for you!
But like I posted this problem came back for me recently and wouldn't go away. :(
I was seriously thinking RMAing this mouse last night because this constant randomly scrolling upward thing is driving me nuts. As a last ditch effort to avoid RMA I blew compressed air into the wheel, and it seems ok now. It does not make any sense really because if it was dust then why did people get this problem right out of the brand new retail box??
I will have to use it more to see if the problem comes back or not, if it does then I will probably RMA this as this is not usable.

But what I don't get is why EVGA is ignoring us? That's not like EVGA since your brand is very well known for its highly-rated customer support.

Confirmed by Chris here
EVGATech_ChrisB
Hi,

Thank you everyone for your feedback and I can confirm that this has been raised to our product team to look into.

But why won't you give us an update on this?
Did your tech team find out what's causing this? and why only *SOME* people have this problem? Looking at the long thread on OCN this doesn't seem to be a very widespread problem so you are just gonna swipe it under the rug and pretend it never happened?
Is there a fix?
Is there a new batch with the wheel fixed already on the market? or is it coming soon?

Some store is clearing out their stock and dropping prices a lot on this mouse, which is usually a indicator it's either going to be discontinued or a new batch is coming.
