Whole mess about DX12 and NVIDIA.
But I see one bigger problem and that's tendency to NVIDIA write driver only for last architecture.
Because of that mid range could turn them back soon if AMD offer something good with DX12.
But we talk now about some possible scenario and calculations...
When DX11 show up I bought first card and NVIDIA than offer cards with 768MB and 1024MB, my target was card with 2GB.
ATI 5870 was excellent card, but except checked mark DX11 Support he was excellent only in DX9 and some rear DX10 as Crysis and Resident Evil 5 and I can't remember anything more... First time with GTX580 we get something close to playable fps in DX11 with much much better tessellation than ATI 5870. From other side 6970 and GTX480 offer more problems than real gaming.
GTX480 was hot, 6970 was hot and 5-10% stronger than ATI5870 and didn't improve at all situation with DX11. With GTX580 and Tahiti later situation become better. That was 2 years after first support for DX11.
Whole period from first ATI 5870 to HD7970 AMD didn't done nothing except support for DX11 and
they were in much better position than now.
What mean support to look slideshow instead error message. We will see many new games with only DX11 support.
I don't need to talk you that AMD is not capable to move market alone.
NVIDIA can do that, and when time come they will have ready DX12 card.
Because of that is AMD generous with codes and want to share everything with NVIDIA, Mantle and I don't know what...
because NVIDIA keep in had more developers and when they accept something situation become better on market.
But NVIDIA need to stop to leave people with older cards/architecture to rot without support and AMD with weaker cards to offer better fps in new games.
I don't know what customers should do to NVIDIA understand that well.
During whole Pascal period we will not have 10 DX12 games on market.
NVIDIA will fix everything with Pascal but again DX11 will still be main for gaming.
