Gameworks VR sli utilizes as many lanes you can give the GPU's ..so I want the fastest possible SSD that won't interfere.

Grab two for RAID 0, just save your important data on HDDs and be prepared for the possibility of reinstalling your OS and progs if the RAID fails.  But from my experience the RAID is only at risk of failing during a restart/shut down, so if you can try to reduce restarts by always leaving your computer on then the issue should be minimal.  Although I hear buying 4 and doing RAID 0 + 1 you can avoid the risk.

When you get your SSD dont forget to increase your virtual memory to the recommended amount that will be listed in the window you make the change on for Win7, dunno about Win8 or Win10.  Can cause crashes in certain programs that eat up virtual memory if you dont do this.  I assume for what you are doing you will need to do this most definitely.

EVGA Z170 Classified is beast, board have everything even PLX 8747, chipset provide 20 lanes Gen 3.
You can use 16 lanes from processor for SLI mode and use Sound Card, 2x Intel 750 SSD.
Internal USB 3.1, SATA Express, M.2... high end motherboard. For literally perfect platform miss only 2 things and that's not EVGAs fault.
One thing is flux solder and 2 more cores on Processor. That would be perfect platform, but with this speed per core as Skylake and powerful IMC.
People cry for more lanes even with improved chipset Z170, maybe is Z170 Classy solution with PLX Bridge.
I looked and perfect memory for Z170 Classy and my opinion is GSkill Trident Z 3000MHz. GSkill say Trident Z kits are QVL for Stinger and FTW...
They work same probably and on Classy. It's better if customer choose 2x8 or 2x16 kits (both are available) as Trident Z 3000 and small 2x4GB.

You can read specification for Intel 750 SSD and Samsung SM951 they are similar and very fast.

I'm not the smartest here so forgive me if I'm wrong. As for pcie lanes on a m.2 ssd. wont take any away from the gpu because there already bound to it. so imo there going to be wasted pcie lanes. unless there bound to the plx chip. and you don't want to create lag in the system.

as for ram i went with theses http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231902&ignorebbr=1&cm_re=PPSSSIOCRFFWDR-_-20-231-901-_-Product they were a steal with the 10% off all g.skill ram this weekend

The M2 slot disables slot PCI-E 5, which is an x4 slot that is run off of PCH. Because of this, TitanWarrior is correct. Even a 4x SLI setup will not disable the M2 slot.
