I have tried to DIY on newegg but get lost in the tech lingo especially with motherboards. I will List what i have atm. It is my home desktop. Not a serious gamer. But would like to play on med/high setting, everything else i do is basic web stuff
Evga 780i ftw
E8500
Deul orb cpu cooler
Ddr2 evga sli ram 4G
Antec open air case ( big mistake but iam used to the once ayear breakdown cleanup)
Antec 650 psu.  (Would like to lower this if possible)
X 2 evga9800 (done with sli)
Win7 atm comp is unpluged i just got back from overseas when i plug it in i think ill get win10 update
Been a rock solid comp still runs fine with OC dummy at 3.9ish,  i set 4 years ago, but online game i was and want to play is set to lowest. Guildwars2. Mainly WVW
Thinking all i need is intell i5 with a mobo and 4g ram is enough ? that are solid, not interested in OC but ill take advise on this as long as there is a dummy OC button.
Hopeing my Deul orb cooler will work on new boards? And the  PSU is enough if not to much. Also i have a evga 650 ti boost GPU in box my kid bought awhile ago but lost interest in building a new comp
Asking a 500$ cap on this lower the better but 500ish Np .thanks in advance

Have you tried putting the 650ti in your current rig and calling it a day?  It might give you the performance you are after.

Yes but it made little difference,  been awhile but think i got option for higher resolution ,other than that nothing on game setting, so i just stuck it back in box, got feedback from others it would just bottleneck with cpu,ram i have atm

Ok...  I would look into a Z97 series with a corresponding i7 or i5 and 8GB ram.   Something similar to the rig in my sig.  It's just a matter of picking parts to fit your budget.  Not sure how the 650ti will perform in games...  it just depends on what you play.  If you have any specific questions, I and others can definitely help you out, but it's sounds like for your $500 budget, you need to get a new cpu, mb and ram...  then roll with the other parts from your current rig.  and yes...  you want 8GB ram...  4 will not cut it.

Let me know if you have any questions and good luck.

This is a top of the line bundle...  Real sweet...  A little above your $500 budget, but just throwing it out there.

No problem.  That 4970k is the fastest cpu that board can handle.  OC's itself to 4.4GHz... You'll get a lot of time out of that beast.  You need to get the fastest cpu for your budget.

You will get a notification to install win10, but you can hold off if you want. you have 1 year to upgrade. If it's installing over win7 64bit, it will install Win10 64bit.  You might run into some issues if you change your MB with your current win7 drive.  It can be overcome but just be prepared.

I'd look into a new SSD next time you really want a significant upgrade.  It's makes a huge difference.  Just upgrade as your budget allows.

Ok thx 4 win 64 info ill check price options on win7,64 and win10,64. Thinking atm to just get my win732 booted on new mobo then upgrade to 64b as not to bombard my brain & new mobo, probably just a roll of the dice on this matter. I will start searching to see who has fought and won this battle, place the order for recommend bundle as soon i search info on Deul orb cooler for compatibility, forgot to state ive got the raptor 1500 HD, read info peeps are Big on splitting the OS to separate SSD drive,or v is versa,  i simply haven't dove into this relm yet, I'm sure win shooting straight to 10 its going to be loaded, might be time to jump in get ahead of game inteaded of leading up rear as usual.  Thx 4 help

if you want to save your money get a Xeon 771 cpu they are cheap your motherboard will also work with them with a 771 to 775 adapter will make a world of diffrence.
