Hi EVGA forum.

I'm going to order one of these builds this week, but im stuck with what to go with...

Firstly, the platform, x99 or z170.

Now here comes the rough part between choosing the 5820K or i7 6700K/i5-6600K the 6700K is same priced as the 5820K, thats why i considered it. Especially when the 5820K is 350€, 4 months old, with warrenty.

I'll post here the builds i was considering, ( i hope im posting in the right sections, sorry if not. )

BUILD 1

CPU : i7-58200K
MOBO : EVGA MICRO2 X99
GPU : EVGA 980TI ACX 2.0+ / 980TI G1
RAM : KingstonHyper Fury black 8GBDDR4
CPUC : Cooler Master Hyper evo
CASE : NZXT
PSU : EVGA SuperNova750 G1

BUILD 2

CPU : i5-6600K/6700K
MOBO : EVGA Z170 STINGER
GPU : EVGA 980TI Kingpin 72%
RAM : KingstonHyper Fury black 8GBDDR4
CPUC : Cooler Master Hyper evo / h100
CASE : NZXT S340
PSU : EVGA SuperNova 750 G1

So i was stuck with these 2 builds..
Either going with x99 6 core or z170 4 core.

Main purpose will be Programming/Gaming/Editing and much more.

Build 1 or 2?

Thanks in advance.

I see no reason to go with Skylake when the 5820k easily hits 4.6GHz, is about the same cost is 6-core and easily out performs the 6700 running the same O/C. Cinebench R15 the best score I have seen from Skylake is around 900, my 5820k hit 1355. I realize there are other benchmarks but in my experience I like the X99.

Also, go with 16gigs of memory no matter which one you choose.
