hi guys! i'm new here. I'm Federico from Italy
I bought a used Z77, I installed the CPU (i5 3570k), an SSD, an HDD, a DVD burner and RAM (2x4GB Kingston HyperX fury 1866).
was booted perfectly, then I decided to remove the SSD and use the HDD, so I entered the bios and changed the parameter sata "ahci" to "ide", then I have saved and restarted.
I have not taken the SDD before restarting and from that moment the mobo has always stuck with error 72

I'm going crazy: I tried to change RAM (tridentx 2133 and corsair 1333), remove all media from the SATA ports, to use a VGA (hd6950 and gtx770) or use the onboard video .. I tried to change porcessore (i5 2500k), I tried to do a uSB flash bios, but the mobo will not boot and always error 72 ..

Change it back to AHCI and retry. Should that fail make sure that the hard drive is the 1st boot device.

Test your system without any memory installed.  With no memory the POST code should change to either 55 or 53 for 'No Memory'.  If you are still getting 72, it might be shorting out in the case or possibly one of the other components could be causing it to act abnormally.  If you take the system to bare minimum components and are still getting 72, it could be a fault of the motherboard.

If you can get to 55 or 53 without memory, we should still be ok.
