I know the Samsung SM951 will fit this slot (EVGA X99 Micro 2 m.2 slot M) but are there any other manufacturers who make this? Please post links if anyone knows. Thanks.

On the plextor the holes are different from the Hyper X and the samsung. Doesn't look like a slot M.

That's all I came up with at NewEgg searching for 'Plextor'. I'm not real up-to-date with this M-2 stuff. Sorry.

I think that Plextor is a different slot and not slot M after multiple looks at the photograph in the link.

I've noticed different configs for what the manufacturers are calling M.2 but I haven't really done any kind of research. Using the M.2 port will cost me two SATA ports and if you click my ModsRigs banner you'll see I'm getting about the same speeds as their best M.2 SSD using two 840 EVO in RAID_0.

The best M.2 PCI-E SSD is the Samsung by far.  Just make sure you a get extended warranty with it from whomever you purchase from because its an OEM and Samsung won't deal with it at all.

One great place I've read and heard is Ramcity from Australia.  I hear their warranty and shipping is great.  Many people from the states have said they've got their stuff within a week from there.

I don't think you can boot from an M.2 drive either making it double useless to me.

On the X99 Classified you can with a updated BIOS and right UEFI settings.

On the Micro 2 though, people are reporting some issues with that newly released board.

The Micro 2 board issue with m.2 is under investigation at this time

Is this true?  I have the X99 Micro 2 board and a Samsung SM951 in the M.2 socket and I cant get the BIOS or Windows to see the SSD.

If it is under investigation that makes me feel a little better.  Currently going through an RMA process to get the SSD checked.  Next steps were to get the Mobo RMA'd!

I'll probably get the Samsung SM951 but not until EVGA has issued a BIOs fix

I decided upon the 256GB Samsung SM951 and it is working very well.
