Hi
Looking for advice on a HTPC I am acquiring parts for currently through forums and CL and a Lenovo rig tear down.
The Lenovo donated a Intel I5-2320 quad core Sandy bridge 3.0/3.3 turbo
WD Caviar Blue 500GB with Windows 7
6GB Hynix DDR3-1333
Wireless card
So far I bought a Used ASROCK Z77 EXTREME 4 to accommodate the 1155 chip $50
A new in the box Fractal R4 $45
Now I will be deciding with advice from the forum what else is needed like PS, Bulk Storage, Tuner card and wireless remote/keyboard and anything else needed.
I have a Corsair CS 450M 80 plus gold that can be used unless better is needed.
We have Fios 75/75 and if needed can run a cable to the living area currently my main rig is the only thing wired to the router our phones Xbox and laptops all run wireless

We will browse the web and watch Netflix mainly on a 73" 1080P DLP

I use a cheap ir receiver and ran the cable under the rug to my office and bought a universal remote and programmed it to work with Kodi (an awesome free app that plays and helps keep all your media organized) I am using an old 775 build with an E6850 cpu and only 2 gigs of ram , a gt430 video card and a few terabytes of hds. I can play 1080P, 7.1 surround sound and sbs 3-d movies on a 100" projector without breaking a sweat so what you are building is more than enough. Your psu is fine. I am using a green wd 2tb hard drive and I have another Blue Wd that I use to clone every few months for back up. Your really don't need much for a decent HTPC and once you have it up and running, you really don't need a mouse and keyboard that much. I have my remote set up for 1 button to start Kodi and some other macros for basic functions.

May move up to 4k at some point

Many motherboards can even output 1080p with 7.1 sound all on board. 4K is a little different.
    Here is a good read...

for just 1080p, almost any entry level card can playback movies at that res.

    Thanks agent8
Would you consider a GTX750 or GTX670 FTW or GTX660 all 2 gig viable as I have the option to pick up one of those in a trade

For 1080P? That's more than enough.

Well the 670 ftw is by far the fastest but the 750 would use less power. Any of them would work. If you can save money and use it on something else, do that. any of them will work fine. maybe go by the quietest?
