Hello,
It looks like I'm very unlucky Evga customer - having problems one more time :(
Today I installed my brand new Evga Supernova 1600 P2 PSU and I get huge noise only in idle.
The sound is like the flowing electricity ane its extremely unpleasant. After few hours of listening to this sound I'm getting a headache.
Interesting is under load, when I launch any benchmark (like 3dmark or heaven) the noise totally dissapears.
Do I have to rma the psu or you have any idea what is the reason of that?
I allready tried different, seperate power nest but it doesn't help at all:(
I have made additional test with all power cords detached with just 24 pin cable with attached tester plugged in.
Here is a noise I'm getting (sorry for quality it was dark and recorded by phone):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mI_2CGx-yY I'm really unlucky with power supplies - by previous brand new Seasonic Platinum 1200W has been deadly silend in idle but from time to time without any reason it starts spinning the fan really fast even during watching a movie or just browsing the websites.
My old x-850 which im using as a spare is running really quiet in idle and cause me no troubles. I just wanted to have large reserve.
Now question about rma process with doa item -> here the international transport rates for such heavy items are extremely expensive.
It there any option for cross-shipping (so I pass my faulty item to same courier that will deliver replacement)?
I will be very gratefull for such option.
BTW There is a huge mistake in spec sheet of this psu on evga eu website.
It is written there that it has 200mm width while it has 220mm which means I had to remove my 14cm fan to fit it into my case:(
That was the main reason I decide to take it instead of 1200w = same width but more power... but nvm.
