Why you not specify type of M.2?
How much PCI-Ex line it have?
From CPU or from chipset this lines?
Or maybe it is only SATA?

    Check the EVGA Z170 microsite on the main page - it lists all of these specs there.

    the Z170 Classified has 2 slot (1 Key E, 1 Key M), the Z170 has 1 slot (Key M), and the Z170 Stinger has 1 slot (Key E).

    @EVGA
    why on earth are you putting a Key E M.2 slot on the Stinger? Key E is meant for Wifi cards etc. and not SSDs. It's stu... not logical. Since the PCIe 16x slot is normaly used by a VGA card, there is no free connector on the Z170 Stinger for a M.2/PCIe SSD (NVMe is the future). You could have used the free space on the back of the motherboard for a full M.2 slot.

    I'm still trying to understand why you'd leave cutouts on the IO shield for Wifi for the Stinger and Classified but not the FTW board when it says it supports Wifi through the M.2 =\

    soo... you are saying you can not use Samsung SM951 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe M.2 2280 512GB (model: MZ-VPV5120) with the Stinger motherboard? That surely is a punch below. Sad. Gonna look what ASUS and Gigabyte are offering now :-(

    Where exactly would you suggest them put a m key m.2 slot on a Stinger? I mean.. It is a mITX board. the m.2 would be nearly half the length of the motherboard.. 2280 means the 80mm long 22mm wide.. Where would you logically put it? Maybe on the back, but then you require taller standoffs and airflow, since the m.2 drive already gets hot with airflow.

    M.2 was designed for notebooks without much space or airflow. I know, the Samsung SM951 has a temperature problem...

    When I look at the other launched Mini-ITX motherboards with Z170 chipset, many have a M.2 PCIe 3.0 4x slot (Gigabyte GA-Z170N-WIFI, ASUS Z170I Pro Gaming, ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac). All three have a M.2 slot on the backside.

    The ASUS ROG Maximus VII Impact (Z97, Mini-ITX) has a M.2 placed upright and parallel to the PCIe 16x slot. You could place it parallel and upright to the DIMM slots aswell.

    I bet, that EVGA will release a Z170 Stinger v2 within the next year including a full M.2 slot and a USB 3.1 port ;)
