You should choose second generation SuperNOVA.
G2/P2/T2, manufacturer of platform is better.
I would sold G1 Instantly even if that mean to pay 50$-60 more for P2 same power.

Pretty sad that they made the best VGA's in the industry but cant make a PSU worth a squat. Figure I would give their PSU's a chance after a few years but no big shocker here...

Haha. This could happen with any company. I have multiple of their gpus, and they haven't given any issues, but anything could come in DOA from any company. You are essentially just making a scene, especially since this is a user forum. Contact EVGA and they will help you, the forums is only going to get you a response once one of the mods alerts the techs that you are here or one of the techs pop in.

In that time, your RMA could already be started.

Why didn't you go for the G2, out of curiosity?

It's happened each and every time I have had their PSU's in the past, either DOA or died within a month. I wanted to give them another chance on the PSU's, and I got a good steal on it thru the site store. Anywho, just upsetting.

It is always upsetting. You should definitely look into the G2, as they are much better from what I understand. I have two 1300's and a 1600 G2, and have no complaints at all.

Definitely contact support, or call in to your region office (contact information in the support tab at the top) and see if they can get you sorted really quick.

Thanks for the guidance! Hopefully we can get something worked out and I can pay the difference on a higher quality PSU.

That's not true, we must be fair, even if job with first series didn't go well EVGA didn't lose confidence and offer second generation much better than anyone expect. Their PSU become best option having in mind everything and performance, look, warranty, technical support and price. Super Flower Leadex is one of most famous PSU platform with many different models all excellent performer.
But problem is because G1 and B1 models are not part of that line and that's not EVGA fault.
They lose more than anybody because NEX and G1 series are not as G2/P2/T2 by SF and silent series GS/PS by Seasonic.
I was very sad because Etasis destroy one of nicest PSU project ever but good part is only because EVGA figure out how much people are interested for their PSU and if their offer something nice people will chose their models and that happen later.

Didn't even know G1's were still out there. There are plenty of rating sites and the G1 wasn't rated that well to say the least but then EVGA switched to Super Flower and they are one of the best manufacturers in the industry. Get a G2/P2 and it'll work fine.

Hi Elgamal,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your power supply,  I can confirm that the 1000 G1 series is a pretty good model and it is uncommon that you would receive a unit DOA.  Sometimes there are strange things that happen and in order to work with you on this I have set up an expedited cross-shipment for you to have it replaced.

Please follow the emailed instructions with the details regarding the RMA.  Once you get your new unit, send back the old one with the accompanied label.

Again I'm sorry you had trouble with this unit.  Let me know if you have any additional questions directly or you may also contact our 24-hour technical team at 888.881.3842 toll-free.

Regards,

Yes I forwarded this to EVGA as early as possible. Good to see a fast resolution and fast resolutions are commonplace with EVGA.
