When Wi-Fi Sense is enabled, anyone you have in your Skype, Outlook or Hotmail contacts lists — and any of your Facebook friends — can be granted access to your Wi-Fi network as long as they're within range.

I'm right there with you. I'm starting to believe that Win 10 is the next "Vista". or Win 8 (non 8.1). Watch they'll release an update and go back to 7, making it 10.1. lol

I am actually really enjoying windows 10 myself. If you don't feel safe disabling a few options in your privacy settings, best of luck with almost any future windows installation. Mine as well start using Linux.

Crap like this should be opt-in, not opt-out though.

What is the point of this? Is it really that hard to be social and ask people what the WiFi password is?

Exactly MS Spyware 10 really has no place being this intrusive. I hope EU gets it together and fines them out of the butt.

All these things should be OFF by default - MS is setting all the open security issues to ON by default.. wth are they thinking?

*oops see someone already said it.. so I second that.

Not only that, but having it open by default to anyone on your 'contacts' list in Skype, Outlook or Hotmail, or any 'friend' in Facebook.. lol, for some people that is basically *anyone*.. and if they are nearby and use your WiFi for something illegal, the evidence is going to point to YOU. I wonder how many people will spend thousands on lawyers because of this, yet another incredible security issue created by Windows 10.

If someone comes into your home, and you give them your password to access WiFi, all of *their* friends can now access your home network if they're within range. God forbid you have a open NAS server on there for your documents etc..

Microsoft offers a permanent solution to this problem, but it's somewhat insane. You have to change your wireless network's name, or SSID, so that it ends with the characters "_optout". So if it's called "joe-network", it'll have to be adjusted to "joe-network_optout".

I cannot believe they are doing something so ridiculously stupid. MS are going to get sued to hell and back, because the person who owns the network and lets ONE person use it NEVER gave permission to share it with outside people.. that's all on MS.

I pity any corporation switching to Windows 10..

This is also going to be a huge problem for prosecutors tracing illegal activity back to a point of origin - as long as that 'origin' has a wireless router, they now have reasonable doubt and any defense lawyer fighting a charge based on that will be able to get it thrown out for insufficient evidence. This may also greatly harm anti-terrorism activities by Homeland Security.. there's just so many implications to this, it's just wow...

I can't keep up with all the issues with Windows 10.. there's just so many!
