Soo first of all: i'm running Win 8 64bit as a user with normal rights (no admin rights).

When i double click the usual EVGA PrecisionX 16 shortcut i need to fill in the admin credentials and it starts up.
So good so far.

The problem is: i want to start the program automatically (without a prompt for credentials). I already did this for a couple of other programs AND it did work for the older Precision version.
Here's how i do it: I create another shortcut in the autostart folder which argument line goes like this

C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /savecred /user:administrator "C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\PrecisionX_x64"

So i'm basically "saving the admin credentials in that shortcut" and this usually works fine. The problem with EVGA PrecisionX 16 is, that the error mentioned in the title appears

'Default EVGA PrecisionX 16 skin' initialize error.

Did anyone encounter this problem too?

    I just figured it out.
    Create a shortcut for PrecisionX_x64.exe
Then have command launch the shortcut "PrecisionX_x64.lnk"
Worked for me but I am using a batch file launched by Task Scheduler.
Should be the same outcome though.

I'm having the same problem in win 7 64bit with admin credentials.
I created a new shortcut for PrecisionX_x64.exe and placed it in startup. This matches the way EVGA OC Scanner X v3(64-bit) shortcut is setup. The OC Scanner X doesn't have the error message. However I'm still getting the error message with PrecisionX 16.

I figured out what you need to do.
First go to the directory, C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\
    Then run

Here is a batch script example:

    cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\"

    "PrecisionX_x64.exe"

Or if you are setting up a task scheduler:
the "Start In" Box should have "C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\" in it (Without the quotes).
And the program you start should just be "PrecisionX_x64.exe"

Lamp65 I love you right now.

Edit: Also in my scheduled task I had to delay the program from starting for 30 seconds for some reason, otherwise it just REFUSED to load past 10MB into RAM. Also EVGA automatically set it to start with the argument /s so I threw that in there as well.
