The one big thing that turned me away from taking Battlefield 3 for free when they were offering was Origin. As it stands now, they'd literally have to pay me to use their software, sad as it may be.

Until that changes, I can't give them my business and I'm sure there are others who feel the same way.

And what is wrong with origin?  There are things that origin does better than Steam (like MUCH better customer service, faster downloads).  So what specifically do you not like about Origin?

Steam, origin, arc and uplay are now all cluttering up memory and bogging down people's rigs like mad

I had to take several steps to fix the problems

Don't feel left out , I didn't get one either ... Maybe we don't spend enough money with them ? All of my games on Origin were from either promos (Mirrors Edge) or free ones from them . I"m cheap (actually broke) !

I got this as well. I feel Origin has cleaned up their program abit from a few years ago. I keep both Origin and Steam running, doesn't bog down anything but I guess that depends on your rig. But I can't say much about uPlay, that thing still has problems every now n then.

I've never bought a game from Origin. I hope they work on putting their games back on Steam so that I will be willing to buy from them again.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Origin; their customer service is MUCH better than Steam's.  I wish Valve would go back to selling their games without DRM and stop making you use Steam.  Edit: Just realized though, Valve has to actually makes games first, never mind.

Must be something wrong. I have all the EA games up until they started forcing Origin for EA titles... After that, I have BF4, Hardline and Titanfall that I bought off Amazon. Meanwhile, I have over 700 games on Steam.

Please do explain what problems you are having in Origin then.  I would like to know.

At least you can't blame EA for being the first company to force a program down your throat in order to play a game (Steam).

I will have to agree with ManBearPig that steam forces you to have their software to play the games on their site.  I wish IGN would stop giving everything they have through steam.  Not sure of the number of games,  but that Steam file is over 200gig.  I dont remember Origin constantly updating and downloading stuff in the background like Steam does unless you disable  or pause the updates.

Unfortunately I have no such option.

So I keep steam on a leash, and this way I do not have problems

I overlay it with the general maintenance window used by Windows at a low download speed

I didn't get this email, but I think my account was an EA account (for skate) before I ever used it for origin. Origin ain't bad, they give me discount vouchers every time there's an issue.
