Grats! Depends on what you do, if you need 6 cores, a 4790k would be a downgrade. If you don't, I'd say a sidegrade.

Congrats on win. I think you should keep i7-3930K and Z97 motherboard. You should build easy one backup computer... Most of us have some more parts in house and you can buy used rest and to build one nice backup Rig. It's nice when two computer work in same time. If you look better i7-4790K is better for surfing, everyday if you overclock him and games, but for rendering and serious work you can keep Extreme platform. That's Sandy Bridge Extreme and i7-4790K is faster except in situation where all 6 cores on Sandy E are constantly used. And maybe you will feel even faster processor if you OC Devil Canyon on 4.5GHz... But Turbo clock is very close. i7-4790K is excellent processor. Because extremely high Turbo probably better than i7-4770K, i7-3770K and i7-2600K. Only people love Sandy because they can overclock manual him... Applications today love to see 4.4-4.5GHz and fast cores that's main reason why AMD can't deal with premium single graphic card any more.

I'd say to wait for the Broadwell chips, and hold on to that Z97. Right now (for gaming) you won't notice any difference. Can you Step-Up the Z97? If you could get a Z170 it would be nice. Or get a Pentium K and overclock the hell out of it :D Congratulations on your win!

no prizes have no warranty or step up I believe I ordered everything to do a build with the z97 faster ram than my current setup so we will see how it goes will hold on to the x79 platform till I see how it goes already have a backup sandybridge 2700k rig i'll keep it for backup no need for 3930k rig backup that's a waste lol.

Good afternoon JEffro66, Just to confirm prizes given away through our events, evgagaming.com and other related EVGA contest do have warranty support. For example your Z97 Classified will carry a three year warranty starting from the day we shipped it to you. You are correct about the Step-up program: "Products received free through promotion or contest do not qualify for the Step-Up program." Let us know if you have any questions and hope to see your build up at Modrigs.

Well, when you think about it, it would be kind of hard to step-up a piece of hardware with a receipt showing a cost of $0.00. You'd end up paying full price difference for the step-up.
