Has anyone done a comparison between Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 for PPD performance?

I haven't done a test between the two but I find that Windows 10 is just as stable as Windows 8.1 if not more so.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Yes, DO NOT RUN WIN 10 for folding. The cards don't use their boost speed. I get at least a 20-40% speed decrease on Windows 10. Precision X confirms lack of boost speed. CPU usage is also down to almost half the windows 8.1 %.
I have been alternating between the two OSs for awhile now. Win 10 is getting better, but it us not there yet.

Just started Folding and I think it's more then fine.  PPD seems similar to Win8.1.

Hmm, my stats show a marked decrease in ppd under Windows 10. I looked at the week by week breakdown on Extreme Overclocking. My only explanation is the lack of boost clock while folding. It is of course possible my results are an anomaly.

Hmm, seems like my clocks where lowered by one bin too... But only on stock BIOS :P

I was running a custom one therefore I didn't notice the problem at first. Seems you're right after all.

Windows 10 running here the final version and the PPD seems the same to me with the new drivers.

I've just upgraded to Windows 10, my clocks haven't altered whilst folding (1448/3005) and the projected PPD is the same as in Windows 7. I'm missing the gadgets to keep an eye on temps/clocks though

I only ran off one WU using Windows 10 and 353.62 drivers but the time and results were the same as I got with Windows 7. I am permanently back to Windows 7 as I found too many Services running that couldn't be disabled and too many Firewall exceptions that couldn't be plugged in Windows 10.

Remember, Windows 10 needs time for Stanford to get their ducks in a row so they can set everything up. It's like maxwell when it was released, it took a while for the benefit of maxwell work unit's to fall in place. Once they did, they ppd skyrocketed. Comparing an OS that is technically only days old (not considering the tech preview) to two that are years old isn't the same. We may see more benefit in a few weeks as drivers settle across the entire OS.

That's what I'm hoping will happen. I plan on trying Win10 once a few more driver revisions have been released by Nvidia. The month I was running Win10 just creamed my folding results. I usually hit the 1.5 million threshold by the end of each month, I only got 750,000 credit for june.
