You can join any group (sign) you want. It's up to you.
Winners/standings are determined by group (sign you choose), individual user, and by team (crunching@evga).
To ensure your stats are reported for all three categories, just make sure you joined our team in your seti@home preferences, in addition to registering for this event and choosing a group.

Ah, the SETI Challenge, I remember this as a fun and well run Challenge. This one will attract many top crunchers. As last time, I chose my real starsign as my Group. Just as a reminder, out of 134 teams With Points in 2014, we made it 7th. We're darn good

Seti has cpu and gpu tasks. Gpu supports ATI, Nvidia and Intel. If memory serves, gpu was the best point producer.
Haven't run Seti in a long time, so might have changed.

Yes. On your account page got to the project preference page. Select hardware to use and sub projects to run. Both sub projects will run on cpu/gpu, so I'd use all you can spare. Visited Seti forum, lots of opinions as what produces the most for the project. Recent numbers say it's about even. So use what you got.

Cool, I have a lot of both cpu cores and gpu's.
Doing a test at the moment for HT 'On" and "Off" to see what works best.
Will check the forums for more info.

Don't forget to run your Android devices as well. They may not produce a lot, but they are very efficient for their power consumption.

Well we started off at 46 and slowly worked up to 44 as a team. Just glancing at our team list it looks like several people forgot about the event.  Oh well, my system is chugging along and will be during the whole event. Hopefully some others join in.
