EVGA is well known for their customer service and product quality, among other things. But you can't please everyone, all the time. In this thread, please post your WORST experiences with EVGA, but please keep it polite, civil, and professional. I have purchased many EVGA products, and when you buy a LOT of electronics, there's bound to be a lemon.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That said, I've had two "bad" experiences with EVGA, but both ended in a mostly positive manner.

1. Purchased a GeForce 7800GT in early 2006. Used the step-up program to get a 7900GT, but not just any model, their highest OC'd version. Unfortunately, this model ended up being overclocked too far out of the box and it became a habitual failure for MANY people. So, I chose to RMA it. I had to argue with EVGA over cross shipping (because the card still worked for desktop usage). EVGA was making changes to their warranty and tried to apply it retoractively. In the end, they caved and sent me another card. This card had the same problem. So, they upgraded me to the 7900GTO, sent me an EVGA T-Shirt, and 2 games. I used that GTO for 3 years before upgrading to another EVGA card in 2009, then another in 2012, and have another ariving today. Keep your customers happy, and they keep coming back :)

2. Purchased an EVGA nForce 650i Ultra motherboard from Newegg. Product was advertised as having a lifetime warranty. Box arrived, and said "limited lifetime warranty upon registration." I registered after installing and ensuring that it worked. Registration showed 1+1 warranty. Apparently, there are two SKUs, and the SKU INSIDE the box didn't match what was ON the box. EVGA refused to honor the warranty. On the plus side, the board is still working great today (purchased in 2008) and is a respectable overclocker. It's about to get repurposed for another system. However, like I said, keep your customers happy, and they keep coming back. Refused to honor the advertised warranty? Like Asus, EVGA has been scratched from my motherboard shopping list.

So there's mine - one bad purchase that led to bad support that eventually led to a good resolution. However, one bad situation that led to a bad resolution, but at least the product was high quality.

I built an HTPC for my wife using H55 motherboard, she used it for a bit. Then she went with a tablet for daily use. I then used that PC for Folding at home. It worked for a couple of years, then pooped out on me [wouldn't post]. I had an RMA, and to my disappointment they shipped me a Z87 FTW for a replacement. Grr{shakes fist} how dare they!!!!!!! That is my worst, which is why I am a customer for life. I know it doesn't turn out that way for all, but most cases are resolved satisfactory. I have read some threads here where EVGA has went above and beyond also.

That's pretty much how they do it. Even if you get a bad rep (like I did for my 7900GT cross shi), simply remain polite and persistent and they WILL help you 99.9% of the time.

Haven't any issues at all with actual EVGA products. None of my EVGA products have failed except for my GTX 670 with they gladly replaced for me. My main bad experiences come with how EVGA handles the gaming servers. I havent played for quite a while but the servers used to be awful with packet loss, etc for some users while others saw no issues. Issues with how admins were handled with servers etc.

Missing out on a B-Stock 780 ti ACX by 2 min. If that's the worst I can think of, then something right is going on here. I have had plenty of rebate disasters with other companies (especially Corsair), but it's always solid here.

going thru 4 980 FTW RMA's for nothing. other than that they took care of all other issues. Despite that hiccup EVGA still has much better/responsive support when compared to all other companies. ASUS by far is the WORST to deal with.

I had issues with a 8800 GTX a long time ago, and when it finally died they sent me another broken one, then another broken one. To this day i never got the issue resolved but I have just forgot about it all by now since i have purchased many GPUs since. Thems the breaks i guess. I have still purchased eVGA since, except my 2 titan x's, cause those were only in stock at nvidia.com at launch.

Well closest I can say is a shipping issue, where the motherboard I ordered got lost in UPS shipping (it was signed for by someone else) was able to get a replacement sent out, so that part was good. then the original motherboard showed up a month later and I was nice enough to send it back (EVGA paid for the shipping of course).
Granted, that's more of a bad UPS experience, and a good EVGA experience, so uh. hmm.

Worst case from what I can tell is from the forums when an admin deleted one of my posts a few years back and I wasn't able to find out why (though I must admit I didn't try as hard as I could have), I PMed a mod about it, and they said it was deleted without a note attached too it and to contact the admin who deleted for more info, I did, but didn't get a reply back and decided not to press the matter farther, though I suppose I could have. that's one thing that did tick me off a bit.

The last BBQ we ran out of mayonnaise. I asked my EVGA GFX card to quickly fetch another jar at the supermarket before it closes, because i consumed too much Cuban rum to drive myself. The GFX card refused and i was highly disappointed.

Probably dealing with a couple power hungry mods on the forums. I bought my BF a 670 and one of my friends a 670 and they both work great. (Both 670's are EVGA).

    My Laptop (GE63VR-7RF):
    -7700HQ.
    -16GB RAM.
    -GTX 1070.
    -128GB SSD.
    -1X 1TB 7200 spinny drive.

This for me too. Since I've never heard of any of the winners I'm starting to think that EVGA makes up these names just to make people think there are prizes to be won and trick them into entering their contests.

The only thing I've had gone wrong was when I had to RMA a gtx 670 FTW 3 times. First one after 2.5 months, second was DOA, and third lasted 15 months and the fourth card I just sold and moved on.

What still gets to me though (even though it has only happened to me once) is you pay a good amount of money on an item and after only a couple months it fails on you and essentially you've just payed full price for some b-stock rma....not a good feeling.

A few of the EGC Admins who OVER ABUSE their Admin powers to gain their advantage. That's the only bad experience I have, everything else has been groovy like the .05 cent movies back in the day.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

I totally agree with this. They actually post around on the forums as well and are rather BAD representatives of EVGA, but evidently they can do no wrong as they are still there..

I did have issues in the past with the 295x2 and endless RMA's, but EVGA was spot on with getting replacements out. I think the 780i was pretty bad to me as well. However, EVGA themselves always were ontop of product issues.

    My bad experience:
When the 980 Ti Hybrid was hard to find in stock, I phoned them to make a suggestion to changing the limit from 3 per customer to 1 per customer. The guy I talked to was like SLI users this and that. I'm like listen to the logic here. If a person wants to run SLI and they get one, they NEED another. How about giving everybody a chance to get at least one before you worry about SLI users so that way you don't end up losing customers. He kept on and on about SLI users. Honestly, if I could of back handed him through the phone I would of. Now they did remedy the situation after I suggested at least changing it to 2 per household this way SLI users could still get two, because there isn't a need for a 3rd. All this does is drives the price gouging market up when something is hard to get. So in a way they did remedy the situation.

Now I have to RMA a GeForce GT 640 card which is nearly 2 years old when I got it but no telling when it actually came out, as I just purchased it to have a backup card shall I ever need to RMA my main card. I'll let you know how that goes.

never had a bad product experience with EVGA, I hope I can write the same after 10 or 20 years again.

there is one issue which disappointed me very much and that's the extremely increased shipping costs from EVGA EU to my location.
this makes it impossible for me to shop from EVGA EU, I must go for Amazon.com instead.
but Amazon.com doesn't ship motherboards to my location so I have to stick with MSI.

shortly said building a rig with all EVGA motherboard, ram, graphics card and PSU is nearly impossible for me.

    still the life goes on...
