So I got the shipping label e-mail and I am getting my stuff together but I can't find the exterior cardboard box that my 980 came in. I have the internal plastic box that the card fits in and all of the accessories. Is that going to be a big deal and will they decline it?

I'd call EVGA for that, but with that said make sure you wrap it right and secure.  They give some pointers in the email you got.

Btw, picking mine up shortly from UPS.

Hey this happened to me and I contacted EVGA a couple days ago. They said it won't be a problem and if anything I might have to pay to replace to box, that's it.

I'm still in queue waiting to pay, I started mine on 6-19. Hopefully I get the email soon.

Got mine yesterday. She's a beauty. Make sure to use DDU, though, because Heaven was benching it at lower numbers (around 1485) than my previous 970 FTW until I cleared out the old drivers and re-installed the 980 TI drivers.

That's strange about paying for a box.  I got 2 RMA cards and the 2nd card went back in the 1st RMA box (it's different from a retail sale box).  I mailed the 980 FTW, via step up in the original card box, which has different serial numbers.

So I called EVGA and they said not to worry about the cardboard box. I shipped the card this afternoon and they will get it on Monday. Due to my close proximity to EVGA HQ, I am hoping to see the new card sometime next week.

Got mine yesterday and so far so good.  She runs a little warmer than the 980 FTW at the same fan speed (@50% Ti 71* vs FTW 65*), which is fine with me as long as she's not crashing and black screening.  At 50% fan speed is barely audible.

Also, got me a new mouse which has increased my accuracy a bit.

Happy so far.

Well I'm fully invested in this now...my water blocks and backplates came in today!

Thanks everyone for sharing your progress dates, it helps to give us an idea of what our wait time will be like. Looks like I will be staring at these blocks for another 3 or 4 weeks lol..but still glad i got them now as inventory seems to be very thin on US vendor sites.

Those are beautiful...that will be very nice once you get it all set up.  Well worth the wait.  I almost went the water block route and if I go SLI in the future, I'll probably get a waterblock for the 2nd card, now that I've had a taste of water, I think it would be too hard to go back.

I am assuming that you still were withing the 90 day window once you started your Step Up? Everything that I have read has indicated that after you are in queue for step up, the 90 days no longer applies unless you cancel. Assuming everything was correct on your end, I'm sure EVGA will work with you on it.

Hi Hebination
I started my step up at the start of June, but my 90 period expired on the 17th of July.
This wouldn't normally be a problem, but because the queue didn't end until the 1st of July and there were issues on evga's system with the processing of the payment , my step up was accidentally set to "expired".

However long story short eVGA support were great and looked into the matter and I'm now at step 4 of 4 and my card is on the way to them.

Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly from here on in :-)

Does the promo for Metal Gear Solid 5 apply to our step up program? For those who received their GTX 980 Ti via step-up, did it come in a plain white box or retail package?

it will not. The promotion page says "
Products received through the EVGA Step-Up® program  are not eligible for this promotion."
