Bios downgrade (z97 FTW)

I tried to downgrade from 1.08 to 1.07 , but a message saying filepath Ftpw64 is not specified and to press any key to finish update(did not restart). Did I corrupt the bios since i'm still on 1.08?
Also, is downgrading as simple as running the .bat file or would creating a bootable dos do the trick?

    I  noticed the same. Solved by copying new (or old) bios file to flash drive, booting into bios (del key) and under "boot" selecting update bios then pointing to your flash drive.

    Is a cmos reset necessary?

    No, I don't think so. But you might want to go into bios after up or downgrading to make sure settings are what you want.
