As you can see below, I have 4 GPUs that have each have an 8pin connector and a 6pin. Can this PSU handle four 6+2pin + 6pin cables? The specs that came with it (see attached)  show that VGA ports 5 and 6 can use such a cable but ports 1-4 show just a 6+2pin cable.
 
Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any advice.

    The cables can be plugged into any of the vga ports on the psu. I wouldn't use any cables that aren't designed for the psu. Where are you getting the two extra 6+2 + 6 cables from?

    Use these cables for 8 pin, every cable in one graphic card. 
     

     
    Than use these two cables...

     
    ...and one connect in 1st graphic 6pin, other end of cable same 6pin connect in 2nd graphic card.
    and other cable connect in 3rd graphic card and other part connect in 4th graphic card.
     
    On cables from second pictures you will see one part 6+2pin+6pin... 2 pin you move on side and connect only 6 pin in one card and 6 pin in card below.
    That's  GTX970 and some exibition with new cables don't need, power consumption is very low, PSU is single rail and you can connect.
    With stronger cards better is if you use 1000 W for SLI and every connector own cable.

    From EVGA. I bought into an Individually Sleeved set. Now I have 2 red factory cables and 2 white sleeved. I'm going to work on the aesthetics later  :)

    It will work, but you may be using more than 85% efficiency on the PS.

    Yeah, I think I may bump up to the 1200 or 1300 PS.
