Despite drop-in drop-out co-op becoming more common, such as in recent games like Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Unity, the upcoming Doom won't allow friends to join for a cooperative experience in the campaign mode. The lack of campaign co-op was confirmed when I spoke with Marty Stratton, Doom's Executive Producer, at QuakeCon on Saturday. But that's not quite the end of the story.
 
For co-op experiences, players will have to stick to maps created in SnapMap, Doom's modding utility.

    I will probably get it but not until I see how it does first. Then I'll wait for a sale.

    I still play doom 1/2 coop and multi, so this really does not bother me.

    I will still be looking at it, but it is kinda a bummer that there isn't coop.

    Doom 3 didnt have coop either, but modders made coop mods pretty quickly. Since doom 4 is shaping up to have nice mod tools right at launch unlike doom3, i wouldn't worry about it.

    Don't care...never played doom in coop always single player + the new Doom game play looks fantastic, can't wait
