That is the main difference.  The 1300G2 (and most of the 1st gen G2 PSUs) do not have ECO mode which is feature that allows the fan to power down when not needed.  1200 Plat is a little more efficient, but the 1300 is solid.

I always run my fan on the 1000 P2, it`s silent can`t hear it at all, I think it`s better to run it.

I too bought the 1300g2 in lieu of the 1200p2. But as soon as I received the in stock notification I bought the 1200. I will either sell the 1300g2 or stick it in another build. I got both at 50% off so I'm not heart broken. The month or so I had with the 1300 was great, very quite. Ran 2 980tis overclocked, d5 pump at 4, i5 3570k over clocked to 4.4, and 6 fans. Never broke a sweat. If you stick with the 1300g2 you'll be happy.

I went with the 1600 P2, only a 50 € difference in price and I didn't want to gamble with waiting on the 1200 P2.

Finally you got 1200 P2, Now we have same model.
Who say my fan not work, my PSU work perfectly only I don't need fan at all. PSU is cold completely.
I only don't know how to turn PSU to look better.

1600 P2 is great because that's same as 1200 P2 only more powerful and have C19 power cord.
1600W models have inside four huge Nippon Chemi-Con caps, 1000 and 1200W models two of them but little stronger I think.
Only 1600W have together 1560uF and 1200W 1120uF.
Huge PSU are very attractive and I would not think one second if 1200W is not available 1600W is only stronger version of same quality.

I thought on disabled fan with Eco Mode.
He really don't work now but he can work If I want.

If you choose white Sleeve Cable Set with Platinum series will fit perfectly.

Actually they are not white, they are more silver, EVGA should change the description.
They will look great with the Ti`s silver

I look on overclock.net something and new builds X99 70% of people some model of EVGA SuperNOVA PSU.
Guys with ROG configuration few of them I saw with 1000 P2 and 1200 P2...
I can't describe you how I'm happy because EVGAs business with power supply went well.
They probably didn't satisfied with NEX1500 performance as they planned but that was not their fault.
That's worse when you couldn't do anything to fix and it's not your fault... But they didn't gave up.
And 1-2 year after their power supplies are best offer on market.
With all Gold, Platinum and Titanium models above 9.5 score and 10 for performance.

But I saw in case of some people cables look white...
Maybe they shine little but they are white.
I'm satisfied with mine, they are same as I saw in case of one member and they look excellent.

Excellent, I wait to change platform to install them.
They are perfect, absolutely perfect, size, I mean thickness is perfect.
Why you use that wire from Cable Set Box?
Use little velcro from 1200 P2 box, you got few of them.
They are excellent for that purpose... You can separate VGA from SATA and Molex and CPU/24pin... 15-20cm from connectors.

Your graphic cards are perfect too.
They cry for water block.
NVIDIA can make same design next 5 years and still people will love them.

Re: SuperNOVA 1200 P2 2015/08/01 00:27:50 (permalink)
Nice package and strong PSU box are very important... EVGA pay attention on that details except for motherboards boxes.
But I notice CORSAIR have very nice boxes design for all hardware, but not so durable paper is thin...
Example I look box of my Seasonic X-750, 4.5 years old and I several time install and reinstall PSU and put in box, remove cables, many time opened but after 4.5 years Seasonic box is still strong, not damaged, no traces of usage new and still keep smell on new stuff not so strong but like 5 months old... I don't know what is with Seasonic PSU boxes today... but CORSAIR and many other boxes are gently... and on many reviews new box looks older than my almost 5 years old Seasonic.
I had this PSU first model, from 2010, package was as I remove foil yesterday...cardbox is such quality that you can't damage that or can't lose shine and become dirty after many years.

I prefer zip ties over fat velcro, just my personal choice, I think it looks better, I still have to tidy them up, done for tonight

OK if you prefer zip ties... I use them for other cables on back side, but velcro from 1200 P2 is not fat at all.
I like and velco from Hybrid cooler...

I`m a bit dissapointed with the fan loudness on the 1200 P2, I like to run it all the time and I can hear it quite easily, thought it was supposed to only spin up when needed, sounds like it`s running at 100% when I`m really doing nothing, my 1000 P2 by comparison was nearly silent with the fan running

Re: SuperNOVA 1200 P2 2015/08/10 06:33:46 (permalink)
do you have ECO mode on?

according to EVGA the fan should spin to %100 only if you reach 65C inside the PSU.
that's not really easy so it shouldn't actually happen at all.

with the ECO mode on I never saw or hear my 750W G2's fan spin during the last 6 months.

I like to keep Eco mode off, hence why I said I like to run the fan all the time, but it is quite audible and sounds like it`s running at 100% when doing nothing but browsing, compared to my 1000 P2 which was inaudible with Eco mode off. You should not have to keep Eco mode off if you do not want to and the fan should not be running at full speed either, during heavy gaming yes, but not when browsing. The 1000 P2 fan has never sounded like this.
