Look on your C: drive.   Windows 10 is preloaded in a hidden directory called  $Windows.~BT
 
I do not intend to upgrade my desktop or laptop at this point.  If you choose NOT to have it there...get out your Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 installation disk and I will show you how to delete it.
 
Boot into the disk.  On the screen where you see the language setup for 7/8/8/1, where you would normally click Next to install.  Hit SHIFT & F10 at the same time.  Brings up a DOS prompt.  Type CD\
to get to C:   Now type the following
 
RD /S /Q C:\$Windows.~BT
 
It will ask you Y or N.  Choose Y and say good by to the preload

    Thanks for this. Weird, I am letting ONE guinea pig laptop instal Windows 10. It said there was an update, rebooted and now the Windows 10 icon is gone but I don't see anything in the C drive hidden files.

    Bob, you think possible to copy this to a drive on another that was not reserved?

    And there it is. Checked updates and there is a "get started" button. Or did it say "launch Skynet"....

    why delete it, you can first use it to create an installation media for later.

    if you want to make a usb or dvd for later just use the media creation tool this is so simple. I had 3 computers I needed to install Win10 on and the windows update method kept failing, this way was perfect, and now I have a backup.

    Since the Windows 10 upgrade is staggered you will only see this file if you agreed to the upgrade and it has been downloaded

    Tried in on desk dos adminstrative acess denied on it all. so booted win 7 disk did what you said type CD\ comes up as X\> type the rest says cannot find the files etc.

    I'll have to check this when I get home. I never agreed to anything but I did download the windows update that first made that icon appear in my system tray, once I saw it I googled which update it was then uninstalled it.
