I was wondering if it is a not so good time to buy a 980 ti classified since the 980 ti kingpin just got released? What I am asking is the binning of the chips for the kingpin right now in any way reserving the better asics quality or overclocking chips for the kingpin and therefore making it less likely to get a good lottery classified card? If this is the case I can wait for the next shipment of kingpins and hopefully get one before they sell out. My hope is to get a good overclocking card. I realize asic quality is no guarantee but with that being said I cannot afford a higher tier kingpin. What do you guys think?

they dont bin chips before their on the board, asic is a measurement of pcb efficiency as well. vince himself stated that he'd love to get purely binned chips, but it's not viable, so no It doesnt detract from classies or other models " potential "for high asic / high clocking cards in actuality. get what card fits your budget, all the 980 ti's are very capable cards.

Thanks, I was hoping I worded that in a way that was easy to understand. That answers my question. By the time the next batch arrives or if I sell my 780ti KPE soon I may have enough for a 980ti kingpin. Any ETA for next shipment of 980ti KPE?

What's up with the EVGA AU website? I looked on the GTX 980 Ti products page and to my surprise the Kingpin was listed there. I clicked the 'notify me' link but it gives an error: http://au.evga.com/products/notify.asp?pn=06G-P4-5998-KR Can anyone explain this please, why list it in the AU site if they won't sell to us?

I received my EVGA GTX 980 Ti Kingpin today but the fans are defective and don't spin. I know that the fans should not spin under 60 degrees. But they don't even spin at 80 degrees!

Make sure the fan cable is seated properly into the PCB. You may be able to see it without taking the card apart, but if you take your time with it (and avoid damaging the card) you can possibly forego a RMA by removing the cooler and making sure the cable is secured (If you do so, make sure you have some TIM laying around!). Otherwise that sucks the fans do not spin :/
I will either find a way, or make one. ٩(๏̯͡๏)۶

There are two fan cables on the pcb, they both sit properly. I can't pull them out with my fingers.

^This literally. My first notification I received via email was about EU EVGA Stock for the 72% ASIC was available to buy last Friday the 24th at 7:00 pm driving back home from work. I was on the M4 driving at the time I received the email, manage to stop for a bit took about 5 minutes, by the time I logged in and all, it was back to "notify me" again. Too late too slow, bye! I pressed notify again. Second time I got another notification, This week Monday 8:41 am in the morning. This time it was for 2 type of cards, was about EU EVGA Stock for the 72% ASIC and 74% ASIC was available for purchase (2 separate emails). The time I received it I was in the toilet doing the No. 02. LOL. I read it at about 8:50 and both 72% and 74% sold out. And back to notify me again. They have yet to release the 7%6 and 80% one's in the EU EVGA website though. But I won't even try buy those. I am at maximum 72-74%. And then there are the people selling them highly overprice on popular websites :P.

Looks like my two KPE's ( 75% & 75.1% ) turned out to be on the lower end for OCing, 1480MHz in SLI I was really hoping for 1500MHz but I still have a lot more testing to do. I still really like these card's none the less. Best looking GPU I have ever owned and very good performance in games, even at stock speeds.
