Hi All,
Long time since last post, as have been running my Dark with no issues on Win7 X64 Pro for last two or three years.
Am however now thinking of taking up the "free-upgrade" to Win10, but unlike previous new Windows platforms (pre Win8) I have not even bothered with pre-release copies or testing (guess I am just getting to old).
So long & short is I have no idea if drivers exist for basic components on Dark with Win10?
I am assuming these do exist as have seen a thread about Win 7 install that referred to beta Win10 installs, but didn't want to hijack that thread with my question - which quite simply is:

Can I take up the upgrade and install Win10 on Dark and not expect major issues like no Ethernet driver etc.....??

Thanks for any replies.

Windows 10 should have no problem as the Technical Preview works 100% with it. :)

Win10 is lean and clean. As far as the Dark goes it works without a hitch. I'm still waiting on creative to release drivers for the Sound Blaster Z cards before I drop 10 on the SSD. for now running it off a HD on one of my rigs.

I have been testing Windows 10 Pro since the first insider release on my X79 Dark. It's stable and ready to 'rock 'n roll'.

there isn't any issues with. Creative just hasn't released a WHQD driver for it yet. Suppose to be out in August sometime according to their website.

If there is a Windows 8.1 driver for it then things should be OK

I've been beta testing Windows 10 on my MS Surface Pro i5 processor and recently did an update for what I thought was a new build but instead was presented with an EULA. So I am assuming I received the final version a week ahead of the public release. It has been the best upgrade experience of any Microsoft OS. It ran mostly in the background and when it was done all my apps, even non-Microsoft were still installed. This was the extreme opposite as when the 8.1  upgrade wiped everything including MS Office.  I hope my Dark experience  goes the same as they start releasing it tomorrow. I guess it will download in the background as you use your PC, and notify you when it's ready to install.

That is me in the picture, anyone else ever pet a live Lion?

Not everyone will get the release on day 1. The release will be staggered as not to overload the servers.

My main concern is that the drivers for my chipset will get messed up. I have a RAID array running on the Intel SATA3 ports.

My Windows 10 upgrade icon just informed me Windows Media player will be uninstalled during the next upgrade because it's not available in Windows 10.

WTH? I paid $10 to enable DVD movie playback in Win 8 and now that's gone.

Sweet, I assume that b/c it works for the dark it will work fine for the normal LGA2011 X79 EVGA gear too.
Cant wait to bench some DX12 stuff this week.

    Thanks guys
Did assume Dark was Ok with Win10, just need to check my soundcard driver now and will probably set-up as dual boot with Win7 to start and then switch completely if all OK.
Glad to hear a good few of us still running Dark.

As with any upgrade make a backup of your array just in case something bad happens.

MS has started the upgrade process on my Dark already. My laptop is a ways off it appears. I will report back when 10 is up and running.

Microsoft mislead me and upgraded my HP laptop not my Dark.

I have been getting a notice that Windows 10 may not be ready for my system and I have to wait until they do more checking.
What the hell is so special about my system? It passed all of their tests with flying colors.
