    I would say no
The 980ti has a cut down GM200 chip while the 980 has the smaller GM204 chip, so the physical chip is smaller.
And the 980ti has 6 GB of GDDR5 compared to 4 GB GDDR5 on the 980, so the memory layout is different too.

Anyway, have a nice day ;)

hardly believe that, cuz the memory pads are definitely too short for 980ti. maybe Vince forgot that point or he was talking about other areas of the block.

Didn't even consider the memory layout at all personally.  The 980Ti memory stretches from one side of the core to the other on the top.  The 980 only covers a small portion of that span.

I realize one is the KPE and one is the Classified, but the memory doesn't change. On the top row, closest to the SLI, there is an extra chip, 2 extra on the left and one extra on the right...

When installed, 2 of the chips on the left side of the core wouldn't even be considered as touching.  The right side would miss the bottom VRAM chio, and the top would only cover 1/2 of each of the end chips.

EKWB has the 980ti Classified as visually compatible with the 780/780ti classified which has the same Memory Layout:

"We made the card so the 980kp waterblocks should fit the 980ti version. I cant say 100% sure, but im about 99.5% sure any kpe980 wb will fit ti kp"

if anything, double up on thermal pads to make the vram touch the WB. shouldnt be any problems, most air cooled cards dont even have heat sinks on the vram in the first place.
