After hours of EA support this is my last resort for help. I tried everything from EA forums including wiping windows and reinstalling game and OS. Same issue after reinstall. I only crash with the Direct X error on one map (pearl market.) I can play for hours on end until this one map rotates in.
DirectX function "Get DeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The device is hung which is typically caused by issues in the graphics driver or alternatively the application").
GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 ", Driver: 35286
I repaired the game multiple times, I clean installed video drivers, tried older drivers. Ran the directx setup in bf4 folder several times. I spent 4 hours chatting with EA support and they want to point to a PC issue, I would be inclined to agree if it happened on all maps.

Origin and BF4 installed on a Samsung SSD alone.
Last thing I have to try would be clean boot which I will try in the morning, it's 2 A.M. here I'm calling it a night.

I have the exact same problem. I seem to crash more on Conquest. Played a full round of Rush on PM and it never crashed.  Would love to see some answers. I do crash randomly on other maps, but PM is always a problem. I've watched memory, gpu, cpu, and network usage while playing and never see an issue. I crash while running around or simply in the load-out screen, doesn't seem to matter. I run BF4 on a separate Samsung evo 840 ssd.

Well, I can't say I've ever heard of that issue  nor experienced it myself.
I like Pearl Market map, played it alot.

    * Have you ever tried deleting just that DLC map pack & letting just that one update again ? ( I know you did the entire game )
    * & also reinstall DX after everything is installed again ?
& have you always used the exact same Nvidia driver version ??  - Have you tried different # driver version ?

For me I had no issues until after the winter patch. I've repaired all DLC separately and reinstalled DX. I'm updating to new drivers later today to see if it fixes anything.

Revert back to the 350.12 driver.  Everyone is reporting issues with 352.86, so that is probably part of the problem.

I have tried drivers all the way back to 344.xx.
I am windows 7 as it says in my signature.
I have removed and reinstalled DLC and main game, reinstalled, ran directx setup in bf4 folder, done clean boot, and still have the same issue.
I also started having this issue around the winter patch.
I played yesterday for almost 2 hours straight until pearl market came up then 2 mins in I crashed with the Direct X error.
Doesnt seem to matter I can get 2 mins into pearl market other times it may take as long as 5 mins but it always ends the same with the direct X crash.
It only happens on pearl market no other maps or issues with any game modes, all other games run fine EVE, Diablo 3, WoW, anything else I want to play.
Now EA wants me to turn off TDR which after reading is a built in safety. I'm really at a loss.

Ok so I tried as EA suggested and edited my registry and it seems to have worked. I will put the forum post with the directions below. I am not responsible if this breaks your pc you have been warned.
LINK REMOVED IT DOESNT WORK IT LOCKS YOUR PC UP.
EVGA forums are blocking my link so add the http:// to the front of the address above.

After more testing do not add those registry keys, all they do is prevent the error from showing up and the machine hard locks (power or reset button must be used.) So I am back to square one and EA support is a joke. I was just told I should boot into safemode then restart the pc in normal mode and that would repair any corrupt files in my system, idk who they are fooling with this crap but I have been building pc's and repairing them for close to 20 years and that ranks right up there with being told to turn my Ethernet cable around by the cable company.
Any other input guys I'm back to where I started?

I would just not play that map then.  It isn't worth all of the time and trouble that you are putting into it.

Try playing the map without precision x/afterburner running. Try playing with your card downclocked by 105MHz on both the core and memory.

Yes. Remove Precision X/Afterburner and do not overclock anything. For some reason I found BF4 oversensitive to overclocking.

Intel Core i9-10980XE, Asus Strix X299-E Gaming II, 128GB  Kingston HyperX DDR4-2400, EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 XC HYBRID GAMING 08G-P4-2184-KR, Asus ROG Swift PG278Q, Corsair HX850i, Corsair H110i AIO, all wrapped in a Corsair Obsidian 600 case.

Curious to see how the map runs after today's patch. Will report back after tonight's gaming session.

Thats interesting, it very well could be. To be honest i never loaded the chipset drivers for my board when i installed 8.1.
I did uninstall precsion x and replaced with afterburner and ive not crashed since.

I have the same issue, and I've tried everything. Not just this map, a few more, but this map I can barely make it 4 minutes.

Have you tried playing in borderless window mode? Sounds stupid but you might be surprised to find it fixes your problem. If not you can try a USB headset and disable your on-board audio in the bios.

    Hi all, try to google:
"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error in Windows 7 or Windows Vista.
Worked for my 770 SC ACX, in addition you can try to manually uninstall and re-install 353.30, I can't say if work just fix or driver installation is needed, cause i tryed after both!

Pearl Market is the only map that runs crappy for me, all others are fine.
It's never crashed, but it runs sluggish and I definitely notice a big dip in FPS.
I've tried a number of drivers for BF4, but 340.52 is by far the most stable and best for performance.

    I would suggest the following:
    1. Delete the BF4 folder in My Docs, you will then need to reset all in game settings.
    2. Right click Origin, go to properties, then disable origin in game.
    3. Navigate to BF4 folder in Program Files and find folder that contains directx, then update it there.
