Re: GTX 980 TI Classified 2015/07/06 08:06:38 (permalink)
Hi there could anyone with a 980ti Classified and a ruler help for 30 seconds ?

(Trying to see if it will fit in my new case)
Please could you let me know the following dimensions of the card (in mm). Height C is crucial to know as when my case is delivered I can simply measure from the PCI card bracket mount to the side panel :
- A Card height without PCIx16 connector
- B Total card height
- C Height the card protrudes past the screw in bracket

Many thanks

EVGA GTX980Ti Classified have Hynix memory.
Nice. TITAN X SC 216 GTexel/s vs GTX980Ti Classified 209 GTexel/s... very similar numbers.
Normal TITAN X have 192 GTexel/s...and max is 221 GTexel/s TITAN X Hybrid and TITAN X HydroCopper. Only 5 more than EVGA GTX980Ti Classified.
That's important thing, but only if we compare same chip and same architecture.

231.6 oc'd ;)

Nice, but I would be very bad person to change my stance, when I avoid all other cards in my country and bought EVGA 780 Classified and EVGA 780Ti KP Classified I payed them more because higher clock. I decide to go with EVGA again when I saw GTX580 Classified ULTRA. In that time I had card with 790MHz, stock was 772MHz... I was very angry because to us was only available Matrix with 816MHz and MSI Lightening Xtreme with 832MHz...
In that time 50MHz was as now 100MHz.. EVGA had model with 850MHz and model with 900MHz... That was real Classified, like I wish self and because I decide to go with EVGA... Hundreds of people told me you can buy cheaper and to OC... I didn't listen them and I will not listen you...
What will someone to think... I'm not K|NGP|N or TIN... I'm not in California.
I'm someone who live in Europe and I would like to someone check prices on EVGA Europe.
For that price we deserve higher clocks... Don't need to bi highest... I will not by Strix with 1220MHz, I will not buy Zotac or Galaxy...
if I need to pay 980Ti instead TITAN X I would probably wait Matrix or Poseidon...
I say I don't need exactly highest clock, but if highest is 1250MHz, for me is OK Matrix with 1235-1240
I will try to achieve my plan with TITAN X SC that would be my loyalty to EVGA, except that I can't pass to play games on 60MHz slower card,
but GTX980Ti will be interesting for me when EVGA launch model with 1250MHz...
But looks like nobody realize that I'm serious when I say I enjoy when my model is fastest on market and don't need to work on 100-150MHz more, only 50-60MHz space because stability and that's perfect card for me... Obvious people think I told that because EVGA have in that moment cards with highest speed.
Even If I nicely explain that from first day of overlocking when I go with reference models, first task was to check sites of all manufacturers and to write highest clock. And that was task for gaming, sometimes I success, many times I couldn't even benchmark on clock same as some premium model have.
And I was very very happy when I success in that, I lock clock and continue to play games, for me that was enjoying as someone sit and look benchmark tests whole day.
Don't understand me wrong that I have something against EVGA now or I don't know, I even swear In god I would sell any GTX980Ti and invest money in
TITAN X SC...but this series of EVGA cards are not interesting for me because any other brand have faster and few of them didn't launch premium models.
Even that Inno3D have model with 1200MHz with Hybrid cooler. Because they saw that people ask overclocked cards.

I don't even think that EVGA Classified clock is to low...
Only I think that other brands decide to bin better cards and to offer better and faster model.
I don't know why ASUS didn't done that earlier, they lose lot of money because their lower clocks.

I don't think EK will be making a block for this unless it's through EVGA.

They will make blocks, maybe is 780 Classy compatible, someone say.
Everything is on place except competitive clock and MSI 980Ti Lightning arrive soon, MSI say they will make.
Probably they work longer to bin best chips, memory.

Pity, that was very good option.
But EKWB will make water cooling for some EVGA premium model.
K|NGP|N or Classified or EVGA Should launch Classified Hybrid.
I just draw on paper for self how that model should look. Fan for VRM should be closed, not visible, maybe only little space for air.

I don't know if there is a point in making blocks for kpn cards when there is uncertainty for classified s . Because kpn is for ln2.

Probably will make for one of that two models or even both.
Depend what people ask, more chance for normal version not K|NGP|N, but who knows.
They have now lot of jobs, coolers for TITAN X, Fury X, R9-380X and R9-390X, GTX980Ti Strix and GTX980Ti Gaming, GTX980Ti Lightning later...

I was wrong about the 780 Classy, I must have thought you meant the 980 Classy.  According to the EK cooling configurator the EKFC780 GTX Classy will fit the 980 Ti Classified.

Currently the compatibility is only "Visual"

The only thing left to lift the EOL status and make the compatibility to "Physical" is to have EVGA sending us a 980 Ti card.

Until that we won't start any new production of the block. So the update time will depend on how long will EVGA take to send the card to us.

Would love to know this info too for the EU store.

Also how long will it be until EVGA EU have constant stock of the 980ti Classified without fear of selling out?

Perhaps an EVGA staff member could shed some light , thanks

You do remember the 780ti Classified and KPE stayed sold out most of the time until the 980 (reference) got released.. the the 980 Classified and KPE stayed sold out until the 980ti (reference) was released... you KNOW this is going to continue...

Calm your nerves.. White Dragon has been around a LOT longer than you, and I wasn't talking to you, so assume I was talking to him.

As a matter of fact, I read the name and assumed it was the white dragon that has been around for a few years, so my apologies to him.  But when I am talking to someone else, you don't have to take offense when I am not talking to you.

Notice that i have been talking to WhiteDragon_ previously in this exact thread, and made the mistake when someone used nearly the same username in assuming it was the same person.  Like I said, I apologize to WhiteDragon101.  It kills me when people take on the same name, or nearly the same name, as another forum user.

EVGA 980 ti Classified hitting 100fps at 4k (Max except for grass at medium and no AA) in pCARS. Not a single dip below 60fps.

This card is made for water/LN2 (duh). It gets very temperamental above ~75c when overclocked. Unless the fans are at the full 3k RPM keeping the card cool, >1500/8000Mhz is not at option. Right now I am at 1475/7450 with +20 voltage. (70.24% ASIC) However, I was nowhere close to reaching the 115% power limit. 108% was my max in Firestrike Ultra. With proper cooling this card could be real beast. Getting it kinda makes we want to start a full water cooling setup.

I still think a Classified with a AIO water block is a good idea. Give it a thick 120mm rad with some Noctua fans, charge $850 and call it a day.

What was it doing above 75C?

Driver crashes. Not always, but definitely more common at higher resolution and higher temp conditions. Firestrike Ultra, pCARS @4K, Crysis 3 @4K. 75 is an approximate. Also this is only overclocked, card is perfectly stable stock at 85c.

Also this card dumps molten air into your case. If you don't plan on water cooling, have a small case and or bad airflow/case fans, don't get this card.

You know what? Maybe he didn't know. I didn't know. You don't need to be so passive aggressive about it.

My apologies then.

Any word on voltage tools for this board? I think I've seen someone post that they could raise voltage past 1.3v, but that post got deleted.
There's not much point in paying extra for the 14-phase power delivery circuit, if voltage is locked to 1.275v anyway, might as well save some money and buy reference design.

The stock, "Normal" bios is going to be locked.  Even K|ngp|n has stated that EVGA can't release the KPE cards without a locked bios.  They may have an unlocked bios and they may release one later, but most BIOS will be available on OCN with the Classified club where they are using them for overclocking more than gaming.  Best answers will come from the users there, especially those that will freeze the cards as designed.  On air coolers, the 14 phases aren't going to help much more than 6 phases.

Just a heads up, there are people that are showing stable gaming overclocks of 1550 on water... with a stock card... that is the same as people with the Classifieds that I have seen so far, may a few getting the classifieds higher, so one should really think about their purchase.  You could get a classified that doesn't overclock past stock.. you could get a reference that doesn't overclock past stock.  The 14 phases won't help much with air cooling either way.
