    Thank you.

So will the SLI memory combining work with older cards also?

We have no idea at this point.  We have to wait for the first developer utilizing DX12 to pop up before we assume anything.

If it is any indication, I loaded up Win10 to play Watch Dogs and saw 3800 MB of my SLI 780 Ti's 3000 MB (each) VRAM being used @ 1080P with all settings maxed. Yes it is a DX11 game, there is a chance it was a false reading, and it could also not be in the final release.

it's DX11, so a very obvious false reading.  The game itself isn't based on DX12, so can not utilize dx12 features.

Well, I reinstalled Windows 10 (10130, can't seem to get 10162 to detect under windows update) with the Nvidia 353.38 hotfix drivers. Why? I like to know if I am wrong or not, and don't mind doing some testing to find out!

Loaded up The Witcher 3 and it shows 2GB of VRAM used 1080P maxed settings - dead on for what windows 8.1 showed. Watch Dogs is showing anywhere from 4.5 to 4.8 GB of VRAM usage (much more than on older Win10 and older Nvidia drivers). Also the game play is VERY, VERY smooth on Win10 now with these new drivers (~70 FPS) - it used to be quite choppy.

They are BOTH D3D11 programs. One shows the the same VRAM usage as Win8.1  - the other shows ~50% more VRAM used. Watchdogs is an ABSOLUTE MEMORY HOG - if it has access to it, it is going to use it and a lot of it at that.

With Win10's release just 3 weeks away and with these results I'd say this is what is expected. Is that a bad thing? Oh heck nah! It's GREAT!

At its core that is true, but not for all DX12 features. Check this out.

But you would think that DX12 can build drivers that can take advatage of that hardware feature since it's being used for years.
Where as any new Driver set built off physical hardware changes can't be cause older cards don't have the hardware?

So I'm going to guess that the shared memory in SLI can been taken advantage of with DX12 cause the systems physically already exists.

Just got the Win10 10162 release installed. Watchdogs and The Witcher 3 VRAM usage remains the same as before.

I checked out Firestrike Ultra (4K test) - the first test uses 3.1GB VRAM and the second test (with the robed chick walking with the floating spider following) uses 5.7GB VRAM. The combined test uses 4.5GB VRAM.

EDIT: Shadow of Mordor's benchmark (everything turned up max) hits 5.3GB VRAM usage with an average of 138 FPS minimum of 54.

Yeah, Win10 even with DX11 games/benchmarks are using VRAM stacking on my SLI 780 Ti's.
