So I purchased a 750 sc (2gb) to replace my Zotac gtx 650 synergy (no 6 pin required). I got a heck of a deal on it and read it keeps pace with a stock 750 ti. What I am curious about is that the clock speeds are posted as 1215 base and 1294 boost. However, mine regularly boosts to (and stays at) 1358 according to gpu-z. I am assuming the speed is being reported correctly. So, is the card being undersold, perhaps because of updated batches or something similar? Was 1294 the "average" boost? I am sure I don't have some special sample, but I am curious as to why it's boosting this high. No complaints though. It's been really great for the short time I've used it.

Read about GPU Boost 2.0.  it will explain everythingg.  This will get moved to General hardware, since it isn't EVGA, and the EVGA Forum is for EVGA stuff, more than likely.

Hi and Welcome to the forums...

The advertised boost clock spec is what all the 750 SC cards will boost to.  Typically they will boost to some amount higher than that and to varying speeds.

Hello and welcome to the forum. The 1294 boost clock is the guaranteed boost the card will attain while being under the limits for temp, power etc etc. Boost 2.0 can increase that beyond this as long as the GPU stays withing the limiting operating parameters.

Psst.... GTX 750 SC is an EVGA product...

It's normal. I've got a GTX 750 SC as well, and it boosts all the way to 1359 (heh, not sure why mine is one HZ more). I use Nvidia Inspector to monitor, so it's probably the same, just some rounding error.

The only problem is that I hit the thermal limit of 80C often these days, so after a while under 99% load when the card has hit 80C, the clock speeds lower down gradually to 1320 and the 1280 and even 1250. Gotta clean the fans!

Also, yes when I first got the card (where it would never breach 73C even under 99% sustained load), it scored higher (or basically the same) than a stock 750 Ti in the Passmark Benchmark. So yeah the SC is performance wise nearly on par with a stock 750 Ti.
