I have the Original X58 Mobo (132-BL-E758-TR) would like to add USB 3.0 and SATA III.

For USB 3.0, I would like to add the following:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E59W1G8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2QGX098CVHYJ7
Can I expect to get full USB 3.0 speed with that? I am basically going to be using it for my new DAS KEYBOARD 4 ULTIMATE which uses USB 3.0 for NKRO I believe.

For SATA III, I would like to run a single SSD for OS & 2 SSDs in Raid 1 for programs and data. I am thinking about this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BUC3N74/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
with this product (or any product) will I be able to exceed the performance of the onboard SATA II?

Thanks for your input

For USB 3 your solution will get USB 3 but probably not the absolute full speed one would see from an onboard solution

Personally if I were you it would be better to run two SSDs in raid for better speed using the SATA 2 ports and then use the marvell ports (or reminaing ports) for mechanical or SSD storage

Hey guys, I have been using this:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003GS8VA4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00
    to connect this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA39E2F91338

however, I am only getting sequential read/writes of 280-300 MB/s. The expansion card is connected to PCIE 2.0 x16 slots. I would expect closer to 500MB/s speeds, shouldn't I?

    Thanks

Your SSD (Intel 510?) isn't capable of reaching those speeds. Hence you don't get 500 MB/s.
It performs around 300mb/s so you are fine.

The problem with that card is that it's only PCIE 1x so it only has 500MB/s of bandwidth, add on the overhead and the fact that it has a Marvell controller and 300MB/s seems about right.
Say if you had an LSI raid card with PCIE 4x (2GB/s) then 500MB/s seq. reads/writes would be easily obtainable. But of course one of those cards costs more than the ssd...

OK, so, more reasons to upgrade to new CPU/MOBO/RAM. I think it is time after 6+ good years :)
What is the latest consumer intel i7? Should I Buy now or is something new coming right around the corner?
    would it be LGA 2011-v3?

Skylake is going to be released next month it seems so it may be worth it to wait a little bit.
What do you primarily use your system for?
If it's just for gaming then I'd grab the i7 6700k or i5 6600k when they are released.
If you use it for rendering, CAD, ect. then you'll greatly benifit from a i7 5820k.

I see your signature, I was thinking about getting a xeon just like yours & upgrade my ram. But, upgrading to a new mobo/cpu would be nice for the usb 3.0 and sata III & faster memory.

That sounds like a logical course of action.
