Yeah, these are much improved. I still get crashes in Windows 10 while playing certain games. One in particular is Final Fantasy XIV as well as ARK: Survival Evolved (ARK crashes a lot for me, but I assume it's just that game. It's poorly optimized at this point.) I realize this hotfix was for the TDR issue, but it'd be great to gain a little more stability! Feels like it's an issue with the 900 series cards since everyone else I know with a 980 has the same problems I do while those with 700 series cards are just fine.

Hello,
even though this hotfix primary target was to fix stuff related to chrome, i think it is still importand to note that the issues with ffxiv and witcher 3 still persist. Whan you watch the offical geforce forums, especially the one regarding the hotfix driver, you will find several reports on the games mentioned. A further problem, for me atleast, is the lack of reproducibility of the issue. If run the ffxiv benchmar 10 times back to back with no issues. But running the game itself still produces the same driver crahes. With other benchmarks and games (TM2 for example) there are no issues what so ever.
My card is a 980 gtx ftw ac 2.0
If there is annything i can provide to further investigate the remaning issus i'm more that willign to help, even though my technical understanding is quite lackluster ._.

i havent been able to try these drivers yet but i play quite a lot of FF14 so ill report back and say if i end up having issues with it at all

currently on 350.12 everything newer crashes non stop at desktop/chrome/etc

So far i've testet the followind drivers:
347.88 17.3.2015
353.30 22.6.2015
353.38 hotfix driver
None of them worked without crashes. The error code is allways 0x00000116 with BSODs (although I cannot see the BSODs because the screen goes to black). Crashes happen for seemingly no reason. Sometimes it takes hours, sometime seconds.
Today i will be testing the 350.12 13.4.2015 driver. Maybe that one works, at least for now.

I'm also carefully monitoring my evga 980 gtx FTW Ac 2.0 with gpuz. But the Temp never goes over 72°, the core clock is stable. Funny enough my friend has a gtx 970 from gigabyte, and he has no issues at all ._.

I installed these drivers last night and managed to get an hour of Project CARS without a TDR whereas with 353.30 I would have one about every 10 - 20 minutes.  I shall update following more testing but so far they look good.  Fingers crossed.

Spoke too soon.  TDR in Far Cry 4 after a couple of hours, which is about normal for Far Cry 4.  Back to the drawing board nVidia...

I will give these a try, been getting directx crashes playing BF4 and when just surfing using chrome the nvidia drivers crash then screen goes black and then comes back with the message that a crash has occurred and that they have restarted. I will give an update in a few days if these work.

UPDATE : Played BF4 no crashes, no freezing, no directx error. Surfed with chrome drivers did not crash. Everything was smooth finally. I will continue to test tomorrow / tomorrow night but so far so good.

well been using these most of the day and havent had a single crash and mostly been on FF14 which at 2560x1440 and max settings under the new dx11 stuffs makes both my 980s sit at 95%+ usage at all times

also havent had any problems running chrome while on netflix or just browsing the net

and my previous OC i was using under 350.12 seems to be working just fine as well

still havent tried any benchmarks though

Drivers are great, so far... I haven't had a single driver crash. When I first installed my 980Ti, I did get a fan ramp to 100%... No crash and I exited Heaven real fast. Haven't had that since though. No TDR's and all games tested are running REALLY well.

980 Ti SC+ here. No crashes in Witcher 3, but Project Cars has gotton a few TDRs and also Unigine Valley. Still much better than previous drivers. Those crashed Valley 99% of the time.

I have two 144Hz G-Sync monitors and the best I can run them at is 120Hz on my primary and 60Hz on my secondary - otherwise the card does not downclock and runs on max clocks. Had the same issue with the previous driver. Win 8.1 x64, 980Ti Hybrid.

Literally, 15 minutes after I posted that, I got a dxgkrnl.sys (DirectX Graphics Kernel) BSOD. I'm assuming the drivers are to blame. I was watching 3 videos simultaneously in VLC at the time as a test - this is the second time I see a BSOD when doing that since I got this card/drivers.

Re: 353.38 Hotfix Driver 2015/07/02 17:40:21 (permalink)
I'm getting Chrome crashes with the hotfix, the current release, and the previous release in drivers for my 970 on Win8.1/64bit. Chrome will lock up, screen goes black for around 5-10 seconds, then it pops back on with about 15 notifications stating the driver stopped responding and has recovered. Does this 2-3 times a day. The hotfix driver also crashes Batman to the point I can't play the game and Witcher 3 starts to freeze again during the inventory screens. Switching to unlimited FPS and no VSync on the second to last driver release fixed that issue, but it's returned in the latest driver and the hotfix on this thread.

On a second note, not sure if this is just a random point in time where NVidia is just having issues, or this is a normal thing. I'm coming from an AMD GPU switched to NVidia GPU because all research pointed towards NVidia being the best to run with. So far, I like it but these issues are starting to give me a headache as it's just reminding me of the year of issues with my AMD GPU.. O.o

Tested the driver on Windows 10 pro x64 for 2 hours under Witcher 3 and got one TDR, had to reboot though because I couldn't get task manager to kill the game and alt + F4 didn't work either. the Driver kernel didn't crash so I went ahead and bumped my voltages up a hair incase system instability was to blame. No kernel crashes while web browsing with this driver where with 353.06 and .30 I was getting them constantly with my GTX 970. As a side note, my SLI 650ti boost cards have had no problems with the WHQL driver releases.

No TDR errors with these...      performance still sucks in a lot of games though: GTA5, BF4, Far Cry 3 all show rather extreme stuttering.   Actually performs worse compared to my old 780Ti cards.

And no Futuremark will never make these an "Approved" driver...   this was just a hotfix.   Nvidia will likely release a WHQL soon that includes the changes in this hotfix driver.

That's good to know. I won't waste any time running benchmarks. I was getting a lot of stuttering and flickering in Far Cry 3 with almost all of the later drivers. I don't even remember when I played it last without flickering but I've finally finished it and uninstalled the game.

Drivers does not fix stuttering that way,    Iff you dont have Rog swift or other G-sync pannels  Dont complain about stuttering  Cause with G-sync There is none stuttering,  even with 1-4 cards in sli there is no stuttering or tearing so please with it :)   Performence sux,  First uppgrade hardware a little more,

Thought it was ok on Warframe as I got most of yesterday with no TDRs but then after an hour today, bang! But was worst on 353.30 even with PhysX off.
Never got them on chrome only so can't comment there.
Never overclocked my GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0 just used Nvidia Experience optimised settings.
Will try Valley and Project Cars and feedback. Was going to Step-up to stock 980 Ti @ 1000mhz but 6GB thinking OC was the issue.
See sign for rest of spec.
EDIT:
rolled back to 350.12, still TDRs in Warframe after couple hours, no chrome running.
