Are any of you members in to vaping
I just got in to it  like a month ago and have not touched a smoke.
I don't know why the government and the fda want to stop it
there rather you smoke and kill yourself.
I can tell you after a month on this I feel 100 % better  I don't stink  food taste a lot better
I am not out of breath as fast.
and it a lot cheaper.
just starting to build my own coils but it hard if any one is good at it let me know.

Every once in awhile I'd watch this one guy on Twitch that streamed. He'd vape while on the stream. It made him look like a total hipster douche. That being said, if that's what you want to do, then it shouldn't matter what other people think.

None of the people who have professional careers that I know do. However, I work part time at a local sports bar and everyone there smokes and/or vapes.

For me, it comes down to image personally. So I don't.

I still smoke and have not yet seriously considered switching to a vape, largely due to all the other complications involved.  Tank, coils, recharge etc.

And yes, the image does play a small part into that decision.

    Re: Vaping 2015/07/04 15:44:07 (permalink)
    Why I like it is
1 you save money yes it cost to get set up I got set up for a carton of smokes
2 the e-juice I get cost $ 16.00 for 30ml and I use 6gm of nicotine  I dried 12 but that was gross  so I buy 2 bottles what last me a month
    I smoked 2 to 3 cartons a month  so that $360.00 compered to $32.00.
3 I can vape on the job site and  everyone say it smells grate and it taste so good and I do more work cuss I don't have to go out and have a smoke
4 It can look dumb if you got this huge mod but I use a istick 50 it small
5 It better for your health by far
6 I like building the coils rather then buying the pre made coil heads that can add up in cost like I got a few subtanks and the coil heads come in a pack of 5 for $27.00 and each coil last for 2 to 3 weeks or I can buy a 20 foot roll of kanthal wire for 5 bucks and some cotton and build  100 coils .
7 the big one the girlfriend says I don't stink and better in bed haha
I just would have thought there was more in to it.
And if  the first thing you tried was the e smokes from a store they are so gross you have not tried vapeing until you do it right.
and one last thing some time you get a craving for something sweet.
For me  I can vape a Blueberry Custard  juice and the sweet craving goes away
But this is how I feel I love it

What a grate story I don't know why everyone puts it down .
My I ask what you vape on  this is what I got  for mods invader mini for work with the kanger subtank mini
a istick 50 the smok 80 plus and the ipv 4  tanks  2 smok vapor chasers /billow/ lemo 2/
    rda's derringer / troll

when I first got in to it   I went to  the vape shop and he asked me  how many smoke I did a day  I did 1 to 1 1/2 packs  so he told me to start with 15mg of nicotine god
that was just bad so I went back the next day and dropped it to 6  and love it.
so do you build your coils or any thing one think I would like to get is a mech mod

and do you mouth to lung or lung hit  when you vape

It goes to show how it helped your mom would she be still here if she was still smoking

There's a vape shop near where I live. Walked past it during winter and all the windows were steamed up and dripping with condensation, lol.

I smoked for years, at the end I was smoking almost a pack a day, then one day about 11 years ago I gave up cold turkey and I've never had a puff since. I put on a heap of weight right after I gave up though, lmao. Still get a craving every now and then if I'm really stressed, but very rarely.

Same here, I smoked for over 35 years and one day 5 years ago I just went cold turkey.  I did put on quite a bit of weight, but I'd rather deal with that then the obvious outcome.

You are still putting oil substance into your lungs that is not good for you. Some people are tricked into thinking it's water vapor, but it's not. I've seen people be successful by using the patch step program or cold turkey, that's the true way to save money... toss the habit all together. Rather than transfer the addiction to something that doesn't smell as bad... Everyone I know that have switched to the vaporizing have transferred the addiction. Some are getting more nicotine than they ever did with cigarettes because they feel it's fine to just take a couple of puffs every few minutes because they don't even have to go out of their way to do it. My mother has advanced COPD because of cigarettes. She just recently stopped by using the patch. She's not even 60 years old and she's on oxygen and has to take breathing treatments daily for it. It's a horrible habit that causes your loved ones watch you lose your mind before it's all over. Once your lungs lose the ability to expel the carbon dioxide at a healthy rate cause you've abused them over the years... Your brain starts to die, you lose the ability to remember basic things and your loved ones watch you lose your self before you actually pass from lung cancer. It's a horrible way to go.

    Re: Vaping 2015/07/05 16:38:06 (permalink)
I've been vaping for years now. I make my own e-liquid. A 30ML bottle of juice costs me pennies to make. I have 200 feet of coil. A big bag of organic cotton. 2 gallons of base liquid and about 25 little bottles of different flavorings.

I use a Kayfun V4 as my tank and couldn't ask for anything better. The fact that I can easily fill my tank with juice and go was huge. Plus it lasts for days. Also the ability to add a new coil/wick while having a full tank is awesome. The tank is also glass so it will never crack from certain e-liquids.

    Kayfun V4................................ $30
    Variable Voltage Device.............. $50
    2-3 Batteries............................. $30
    4000ml of PG/VG....................... $46
Each Flavor................................ $1.50  (enough to make 500ml of juice)
    120ml Bottle of 100mg Nicotine... $15   (enough to make a 40oz of 10mg juice)
    Bag of Organic Cotton................. $2
    100 ft of coil............................... $5
    Battery Charger.......................... $7
    _____________________________
Total cost...................................  $200 ( if you buy 10 flavors )

Now 200 dollars sounds like a lot of money but here is the catch..... You wont have to pay a single penny for another year!

In the end its just another thing that you should quit. It may be better than inhaling smoke but its definitely not healthy, even when you make your own juice and you know whats going into it.
I still cough a lot just like when I was smoking cigs. I also feel like I have more liquid in my lungs now.

I don't see how this is no different, just trading a habit for another, but what unknown health vs smoking, better off like others have said, quit cold turkey, or wean your self and able to quit. No different from an alcoholic going from hard liquor to beer,

At least natural tobacco and alcohol, you know what your getting, and have been around since before the Inca!

And no, I don't drink or smoke, but I was raised and taught, everything in moderation, and know what your putting in your body.

What is this telling our youth? For those kids with parents that are so desensitized, those are the kids that are going on going issues.

I smoke 1.5 packs, about 30 cigarettes of Marlboro daily.
Only is good because it's Flavor Plus not red Marlboro, and this is little lighter and have less Nicotin and tar than red Marlboro.
The worse punishment for me is when I forgot to buy cigarettes for tomorrow... Than when I go in store better don't ask me nothing...
before I drink double coffee and at least 5 cigarettes.

I got some e-cigarettes before some time and I can say that really help... I drop from 30 cigarettes to 5-6 daily.
I try to use liquid with 9mg nicotine and no smaller than that, I would bought with even less nicotine.
But someone is right... That's only for home... because live really bad impression when you look somene to suck some big pencil or some different type of e-cigarettes. Some of them are size almost as 1l bottle and really look even worse than normal cigarettes. And I'm not sure how that influence on long term, some of them leave really big quantity of vapor, if someone pull in lungs long time maybe is even possible to get some sort of pneumonia or water in lungs, condensation or I'm not sure... It's new things and still no data for long term usage. Probably is not deadly as cigarettes but some kind of damage is probably present. I would never go with this in bar or something else...

I notice that they build e-cigarettes to people stop to smoke and save money. Now that become whole industry with more and more expensive tools from different brands, and people start to order that with same passion as computer components and that's madness. Now almost nobody talk how much cost and people try to have every model of e-cigarettes and tones of liquids. Even kids in school start to suck that pencil probably without nicotine completely.

Now I need real cigarettes only in the morning 3 of them and later after every meal...
Except that I don't smoke any more at all. I remove cigarettes far from me because if I live on table my hand will react and I will even notice that.

I doubt vaping is safe at all..just a different form of risk. To others around you as well.

I'm in the "you've just traded one habit for another" camp. I would think you're better off just going
    cold turkey.

    Good luck though.

I would use it to quit smoking but not to trade cigs to. Right now I only spend 42/month on 4 cartons of cigs with shipping, RYO's. That's for me and the wife too. Id def like to see more studies done on it to see what it does to you, besides exploding in your face, cause im sure its not good for you. The govt doesn't want to stop them, they want to regulate and tax the crap out of it like regular cigs, cause as always, its about the money and whos pocket its going into.

Some doctors say that cigarettes are not banned from bars and restaurants because nicotine...
They compare him with caffeine, only because other different toxins inside cigarettes.
Because of that they tolerate e-cigarettes...
I can't stop to think on guy who found that... I don't know who is, but now is probably very rich.
I don't know what's that liquid, they have different very nice smell, I mean I tried only one what I get, some Layton, that's under Tabacco series. I think it's vegetable origin and they put inside than different flavors.
There are from different fruits...and that smell and almost taste is much more pleasant that taste and smell of cigarettes and than after some time you use that and cigarettes become more and more repulsive.

I knew it. Exactly when you pull in lung you feel something similar to hot vapor...
Only that feeling tell you that it can't be completely harmless even without nicotine.
Special people who pull with full capacity only to fun with smoke=vapor... Or I think that's some mixture of vapor and burned liquid.
They advice to keep vapor in mouth only if it's possible...

    Halo_003
None of the people who have professional careers that I know do. However, I work part time at a local sports bar and everyone there smokes and/or vapes.

For me, it comes down to image personally. So I don't.

I work for the University of Texas and I vape. So you know one professional who vapes.

As for vaping itself, I started about 3 years ago with a protank 2 and a small 650 ego twist, now I'm using a copper mod with RDA.

Also I use 2mg niccotine now, down from 36 when I started. Here in a month I'm just gonna stop

Trying to quit something cold turkey is not as easy as it sounds. Sure there are some that are able to quit cold turkey but not everyone is the same. Try it yourself, take something you enjoy on a regular basis almost routinely. Coffee, soda, processed sugar etc etc... Then just stop and see how long you can last. Keep in mind that any withdrawals are enhanced almost 10 fold when it comes to something like cigarettes/nicotine. It's just a much safer way to wean off of cigarettes.

    Re: Vaping 2015/09/22 00:25:46 (permalink)
I will stop to smoke completely for 5-6 months with help of e-cigaratte. Off course I'm no so crazy to buying tools for e-cigaratte become hobby.
What... it's not easy... that's one bad habit but I know myself hundred times when something happen as rain or big snow and I forgot to buy cigarates... Sometimes 48-72h completely without them... I don't know what happen after 5-6 days and I constantly start to search for cigarettes and than I remember I forgot to buy... and nothing... Only in the morning I look on that as worse punishment if coffee and 3 cigarettes are not on table.

I stop and with sugar... I got 10kg last 2 years... I never was fat and now my stomach start to grow... I hate that... fat people for me are worse than skinny... and I stop with sugar in coffe completely, soda drinks I don't drink long time, only in some cases when no other solution... I put in coffee some special sugar in tablets for diabetics even if I have no such problems too much sugar is bad. I love sweet, cakes, chocolates and than at least to prevent to use more sugar with coffee, because I drink sweet coffee, usually with two small spoons of sugar... No I use that Natreen sugar.
Most dangers are tars, and other stuff in cigarettes, nicotine is only more damaged version of caffein from coffee, similar but not so harmless.
But I will try to mix clear 0 mg nicotine flavor with 9mg nicotine, same liquid types only with and without nicotine and on that way will be smaller quantity of nicotine. Example two same bottles mix together, or even two without nicotine and one with nicotine. On that way you will get just little nicotine, because pure vapor can't satisfied people who smoke longer. I start to smoke from 12 years. At least before use on flavor and vaping and replace with smoke in most cases. But I notice first they try to attract people to start with that and save cost.
And you spend less money, special in countries where Marlboro is very expensive... But it's not completely cheap.
Again you spend some 1/4 or 1/5 of money for cigarettes monthly 100%. My sister stop to smoke before she born first child...
Without help of anything. One day no more and that's it. Now even husband can't smoke inside house, need to go outside to smoke.
Only is problem with e-cigarettes because most of them are big and when you go outside... look funny and bad to keep that in hand and vaping...
Maybe for 5-6 years become normal... who knows...

Been there done that. Candy, done, Soda, Done, Coffee, Done.

It's a matter of will. Do you REALLY want to? If you really want to, you will.
My Dad went cold turkey after 50 years of smoking, sometimes 4 packs a day. Never said it was easy.
It's really the only 'safe' way. *shrug* Don't do it if you don't want to...I'm betting vaping has many health risks as
    well.
