Been watching this game on Twitch for a few weeks. Anyone playing ARK: Survival Evolved? Looks like it's highly dependent upon co-op and guild play. Maybe EGC could put up a server?

It is straight up dependent on co-op lol. You really need people to specialize in something so you have enough points to actually get ahead. The game is hard starting out if you turn the difficulty up some, but once you get to where you get a feel for the game and tame a few raptors or something (what we did) it makes things a lot easier. You will die quickly just wandering around alone though.

After playing Rust, i avoid Survival games. They seem to always bring out the a-hole in people. That's not counting the cheaters you run into on public servers. You spend a day farming mats only to have it all stolen by cheaters glitching into your base.

I don't see evga adding support for that game any time soon. The place they rent managed full machines from doesn't support ARK. Only games they support can be added to managed full machines. I have seen members suggest other games that could be added to one of evga managed full machines but evga doesn't want to bother with it. EVGA likes supporting old games they receive little to no traffic from.

I bought ARK last night, played it for 44 minutes and got a refund. To me, it's not fun at all.

Playing a good amount of ark. I think i have 200 hours already. Its very laggy and rubber bandy. Dinosaurs fly away like balloons after you kill them. A lot of things are really annoying. Other than that the game is really solid. I play with a large group of friends which makes it MUCH easier and more fun. The game is basically RUST/DAYZ with Dinosaurs. Not a game to be played online alone. It can be done but it will be a challenge. It is entirely possible to lose days of work within minutes.

I recently bought it and I like it, but keep in mind it is still in early access, meaning its not complete yet, so I can deal with the rubber banding issues. Some of the game mechanics are questionable, such as the spoil time for food. I literally kill a dinosaur, hack it up and get like 6 meat from it, only to have it spoil in literally 10 mins. Cooked meat lasts 20 mins. I'm waiting for a couple more patches before I start playing again.

I have been playing it with a friend honestly its alot of fun. It does suck though to be out gathering things to build your house and get ate by a T rex.

It does look like they are really trying to build a quality game. The critters seem to be at scale and the world well detailed and quite large, although I think it should be larger.

In other words this game is basically like HiZ1, watch yourself or you'll just get savaged by another play that takes your stuff. Right?

Anyone else playing this and have an opinion on it or not? My friend is asking to play it with him and I don't mind since I can get a refund for it from Steam if the game completely blows.
