I am trying to narrow down why I am getting stuttering with everything set to the highest settings.  I know it isn't lack of power with 2x780s.  I am pegged at 90fps, the games max.  I have tried Vsync, Vsync smooth, Adaptive, etc the are all pegged at 60fps but I still get stuttering.  Finally I noticed that I hit over 3gb vram!  I never expected that is such a low demanding game.  I am currently using a single 1920x1200 display.  I will be adding two more when the stand arrives this weekend.  So then I will be at 5760x1200.

What settings should I turn down to help use less Vram?  I know 3GB isn't enough for some games but this game shouldn't be one of them.  Horrible console port I guess.

I've done some reading and it appears Ghost is just a horribly optimized console port that will use all the Vram available.  Regardless I still enjoy playing it but the random stutter is driving me nuts.  What settings should I try to turn down to help use less Vram?

You need to reduce AA settings to take away from your VRAM.

Just keep dropping it down till your game is smooth again.

I apologize for my ignorance, is AA Txaa? Is Msaa less demanding?

I did some quick reading but I am now more confused. There are so many different AA types now that is more confusing than ever. I guess I will just try them all until I find one that reduces the Vram below 3gb and looks the best.

Typically FXAA is the least intensive AA method games have these days, but it can sometimes make things look a bit fuzzy.

With your triple monitor set up you might not even be able to run even the lowest level of AA due to tripling your resolution.

So the only setting I can change that will reduce Vram is AA? I have plenty of horsepower just not enough Vram with this silly game. I know I will have this issue with triple monitors and say a game like GTA5 but I didn't expect it with Ghost. Especially since I am only running one monitor at the moment!

I have not played Ghosts in a while... but I have messed around with COD:AW settings for a while now. The best way I have found to comfortably change settings and find what fits me the best is to run MSI Afterburner so I can see everything while i'm running the game. I watch my GPU and CPU frequency, load percentages, RAM usage, VRAM usage, FPS and frame timing. In COD Ghosts you should be able to just about max everything out... but I've also found that SLI caused annoying stuttering issues for me when running two GTX 970's.

You might want to just try running one card and see how your experience is.

Also... they do push updates to the game and change things up from time to time... I know they did that with COD:AW. Sometimes I log on and i'm getting smooth games and having a lot of fun... sometimes the lag is so bad and the game is running like crap.

Thanks Rain Stryke!  I will try playing with one card/sli off and see if it is better.  The issue I am having is not micro stutter.  The issue I am having is like all of a sudden it goes from 60 fps to like 2 for a split second.  So if you are running  all of a sudden I am facing a different direction.  Odd.   I assumed it was a Vram wall I was hitting.

I played for about an hour using 4xMSAA.  It seemed much smoother and Vram stayed between 2700-2800mb.  I don't know why 4xTXAA was hitting 3000mb.  It seems good for now.  If it hits 3000mb again I will lower it to 2xMSAA.

I spoke too soon.  I think the game is just poorly optimized and uses whatever Vram you have.  When I map first starts Vram just keeps filling up until it hits 3000mb.  Then it backs down to @2800mb and seems to stabilize.  Anyway, it seems to be playing better at 4xMSAA.
