Got a new EVGA 980 Ti SC.  It is not completely trouble free.  Before I sell my old 780 FTW, I was thinking of leaving it in the case as a Physx processor.  Has anyone else done this?  Does it need the extra 6 + 8 pin power for non video usage?

Yes, you need both PCIe cables to properly power the GPU. I don't know what GPU PhysX games you have, but it would be interesting to see the difference in performance in the Batman or Metro titles for example, with and without the dedicated PhysX GPU.

EVGA X99 FTWK / i7 6850K @ 4.5ghz / RTX 3080Ti FTW Ultra / 32GB Corsair LPX 3600mhz / Samsung 850Pro 256GB / Be Quiet BN516 Straight Power 12-1000w 80 Plus Platinum / Window 10 Pro

Cool, thanks for the info.  Actually, I don't know that I have too many Physx games at all.  Not sure about the games my son plays.  But I got this card laying here and I am not 100% sold on the 980 ti just yet, so figured I'd find something to do with it.  The new Batman game was an addin, so if it turns out to be anything good, it may be worth a shot.
