Hey all,

Looking to buy a few titan x hybrids or a few gtx 980ti hybrid cards. Was wondering how ludicrous duties and taxes will be on a $1500-2200 USD order to Canada. Im prepared to pay taxes and basic dutie costs for the gpus but I've heard horror stories of brokerage fees charged by UPS to Canadians. If anyone in canada has experience it would be great if you could give me an idea of what to expect. (i usually just stick to ncix but the 980ti hybrid is unavailable and the titan hybrid is a ripoff here)

Thanks for any replies! much appreciated.

    Hi,

Welcome to the forums. EVGA does use the UPS Worldwide Expedited 3-5 Day or UPS Worldwide Saver 1-2 Day shipping and this avoids most brokerage fees. The Taxes will be 15% or higher based on where you are located in Canada and the additional fee from UPS for prepaying the taxes is around $11, which should be noted that it can be avoided by placing a credit card on file with UPS to prepay the taxes prior to the shipment.

Look into ordering from NCIX in Canada. 9/10 times it is cheaper than ordering directly from EVGA especially after you calculate currency, duties, taxes, brokerage.

    Corsair 650D   -  i5 3570K @ 4.6GHz  -  Corsair H80i  -  MSI Z77 M-Power  -  16GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator Platinum
    WD 1TB Caviar Black x2  -  OCZ 120GB Vertex2 SSD  -  Corsair HX620  -  GTX285 SSC  -  Samsung T240  -  DIR-655

thanks for the input..but it still looks cheaper by about $100 CAD to buy it here...will cost over $1700 at nicx in canada. Apparently there will be no duty for consumer electronics if I'm not mistaken just sales tax. Been doing a lot of reading on this.
