Will small heatssinks fit in a 660 GTX or is copper shims better?

Where the thermal pads normally, using two sticky sided thermal pads, I was thinking of putting small heatsinks. Is this possible size-wise? If not, are copper shims an option? Also, if you know what are the sizes of the pads needed, that would be helpful. Thank you

Do you mean something like these?

You may have to get more than one kit since nowadays graphics cards have more than 8 pieces of VRAM (also called BGA memory).  Bear in mind, though, you can't just reattach your stock heatsink with these in the way.  So I hope you've got a GPU-only waterblock or aftermarket air-cooler of any type with enough clearance.  Of course there are many different profiles to try out, shop around before you buy.

Also since in most ATX cases, the card is upside down, make sure you've held each heatsink with the appropriate down pressure so that when you install it, nothing falls.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

I was thinking something a little more low profile and cheaper seeing how its just a 660 GTX and for general cooling, no OCing. I'll be scraping off adhesive and applying a better thermal one though.
