The fun continues, folks. I shut down the TH10A for the first time since it was rebuilt. I usually just restart it or shut it down long enough to work on it. Well, I left it off all night so that it could rest and I could check all of the connections in tubing.

I needed it today for 5 minutes, and it hangs at the windows loading screen. It goes through the repair and restore points, but won't make it past the loading screen. I guess it is time to run secure erase.

I hope so. I did notice that core 4 is not boosting to the target speed either. I have it set to 4200mhz,and it is staying at 3000, so I am curious if the processor may need to visit Intel. I hope not, but they are really good about rma's.

In other news. The ek terminals, the new cpu block (x99 specific Supremacy, which I really like so far) and the new fluids, as well as bitspower tubing should be in today. If the system is already down, it will be a great time to restore everything and fix all of the issues at once.

No, not at all. I added more to the last post though. I received the Block and the fluids, just waiting on the terminals and the bitspower tubes now.

Yeah, no joke. I get paid tomorrow and will be ordering more tubing (or fittings) for the correct sizes to go with the Black box. The Scrap Heap phase change has been reaccomplished and boots well again, but I need to find a way to stop the condensation before I let it rip again.

Scarlet-Tech... I need to find a way to stop the condensation before I let it rip again.

Seriously, dielectric grease and closed cell foam. You need to keep that warm humid air off the cold surface.

*wanders off to the web for an example*

Or there's this next level stuff. Wow . . . I've been out of that game for longer than I thought.

Re: Honey I'm Home!!!! 2015/05/28 14:16:50 (permalink)
Drougnor, over in the overclocking section, you can see the spam I have been pushing. The problem is.... The ice is forming about 5" up the line, and I can't stop that yet.

I know this is going to sound snooty and rude, but just because I haven't posted the month long process of wasting money on kneaded eraser, silicon grease, Petroleum Jelly, shop towels, closed cell foam, and all of the time building and tearing it apart right here in this thread, don't assume it isn't happening.

Now, on to the topic at hand... That system is still condensating ABOVE the mounting system. Click the link, and where it says "here is everything installed" imagine ice above that. I have packed it with closed cell foam and tried to order more foam also.

The other problem... Both watercooled systems have formed leaks, one when I built it, and the other 3 weeks later. This is frustrating and not just a simple cut and dry (get the pun?) issue at hand. I have 3 systems going down and I have the first one almost completely figured out (the phase change) and two more going on the fritz as well. The operating system on the TH10A and water leaks have nothing to do with the phase change at this point. Seeing as it costs around 3x's as much, and it is completely offline, and the cpu is suddenly acting up, I am a little bit stressed about the whole situation.

Oh, trust me, no assumptions - mostly that was a post of old muscle memory. Off to the OC section to see what you've posted to see if anything of use gets pulled out of this rusty old skull.

Thanl you. I have not updated the latest. All kneaded eraser has been removed from the motherboard and about a full tub of Petroleum Jelly has been applied in its place. I can't figure out where the condensation is forming St the top of the mount, so I am going to post pictures and an update, after I figure out the th10a leak and boot issue.

I have a couple of guesses at what the problem may be now that I see the phase change rig in question, but it's been a while since I've had those conversations, so I'm embarking on some research on www.archive.org to see if any of the subforums of www.pimprig.com survived.

I get chills (see what I did there? Eh? EH?? ;-) ) seeing someone who ISN'T trying to set a liquid Nitrogen based record properly packing a cpu socket with grease. Hopefully we'll be able to get all of your issues sorted out.

On the Water loop leaks side of things, pop on over to www.themodzoo.com - Some of the best minds in watercooling and pc modding in general lurk around there and I know they'll be more than happy to lend brain cells to get your situation sorted out.

It will take a little while before I pass you, but once I get the 2 main systems back online, I will start crushing some work units out again.

Nothing yet. I ordered more fittings, have all the tubing sent back to performance so they can Schick it and find the correct piece, and EVGA is looking into sending out a new card to replace the bad 780ti. Hopefully everything else will be fixed soon.

Fittings came in today. Th10A gets priority, since it obliterates work unit's.

The 780ti classified from RMA is on its way back now, so Monday the black box folder should be up to 4way folding.

Going to pick up dry ice today, so the test bench will strictly be a benchmarking machine from here out. No folding on the 780's.

I had 20' of tubing hat I accidentally ordered in the wrong size... So I ordered fittings to match it for the sake of saving time, lol.

Yo! I am at work... Lol! Focus will be in getting the system online first and foremost, then abusing the 4790k and 780 classified.

As am I. This has been a frustrating few weeks. Performance still has my bitspower fittings and tubing, so I also bought more monsoon fittings to make due with them so that I could get back online.

Guess who is back!  :-D Finally!

getting ready to pull the black box apart, and ass another Radiator in and exchange the fittings out.

*edit/Addition:  Black box is back up and running.  Currently ripping apart 800k ppd, and the TH10A is at 1.33m PPD.  These are the first work units, so we know they can fluctuate a LOT!

Monday/Tuesday, the 4th 780Ti should be back, and I should be able to get up to 1.1m on the Black Box, or close to that at least.
