You are most likely correct as most users here only find and report on all the negativity they can find on anything that is new.
Not that much unlike our News Stations here in the US we can only report the bad.

I call it how i see it, a lot of other people agree with me.

If they matched the warranty and customer service other vendors offer, i wouldn't complain one bit.

honestly its not about being negative ,coming from a pure consumer point of view one does not buy what others offer for the same price but with a lesser warranty .It puts the first thought into the consumers brain that this is inferior thus why it carries a lesser warranty, and the maker thinks little of me as the buyer trying to get my sale by offering it at the same price point as others for the same item. Its insulting IMO

You could always return the memory and let Microcenter know how you feel about the sub-par warranty. They might wave any restocking fee if you purchase other memory from them.

I could return the memory without a fee, but honestly it works very well.  I'm only a week in, but thus far no issues.  The price was good and I have faith in the EVGA brand, so I'm going to keep them.  It just disappoints me their warranty doesn't match the industry standard.  This disappointment isn't enough to return the ram I already have, but it may deter me from buying more EVGA ram for future builds I do for people.  Performance wise, I'm very pleased with the ram.  It definitely seems to be of good quality, which has me surprised that EVGA doesn't disclose where the memory modules are coming from.  It will be interesting to see how things go for EVGA memory.

Great to read, for the most part if any memory overclocked works for a given time it should work for ever.
That is as long as you use the memory within the provided specifications.
If you happen to set the voltage 5.00 in the Bios and fry them then you should not be playing around with building computers or playing around with the Bios settings to begin with.

The kit I have is running at the rates speed (2800Mhz) and timings.  Right out of the box, set the speeds and no issues.  Again, from a performance perspective, I have ZERO complaints.  Everything so far is indicating that this is good ram.  The 16GB 2800MHz kit is selling for $179.99 at MicroCenter right now, so it's definitely priced well.  The 16GB 2400Mhz DDR3 kit is $99.99, and the 8GB 2400Mhz kit is $49.99.  With these prices, I think they'll compete very well at MicroCenter, especially considering MicroCenter does NOT sell G. SKill ram.  At these prices, EVGA ram is effectively the least expensive ram in the store (when on sale).

Details as to who's chips these are would be nice .Are these direct from manufacturing or re-branded from another memory reseller ?

These are clearly rebranded cheap left over memory. Only has 3 year warranty, buy elsewhere, all the good RAM has lifetime warranty.

If it is going to be a MicroCenter Exclusive at least tell them to sell it online not just in store. I really want to buy some but I can't be driving 500+ miles to pick up the RAM.

I doubt EVGA makes their own RAM modules they probably buy from one of the big manufacturers and then put their name on it. As for it being low quality, I would highly doubt that because EVGA does have a reputation for good products and it would be a shame to hurt that. I agree with BioHazard that extra info on the chip Manufacturer would be nice

The wife pickup two sets of the 2400 8gig for our gaming rigs and they seem to do pretty good. I no longer get BSOD since I have been running this memory for a week now, with overclocking. We will do some test and let everyone know how they do! The wife wrote a quick blog about them on "dramazmainvoice" if interested..

I purchased the 8GB 2x4gb ddr3-2400 ram from the microcenter in Kansas and it runs perfect! My board recognized the timing right away and ran it at 2400. I also removed the heat spreaders to take some pictures.

On the very right there are 2 letters GE, those are the only characters printed anywhere on the ram.

Also the fact that they have only a 3-year warranty does not bother me. All their video cards and motherboards have a 3-year, and also when the psu line came out they only had 3 and 5-year warranties and now they offer 10-year warranties on some of those. The fact that they are just getting into ram is most likely the cause of the short warranty, give it 6-mo to a year and you will probably see an increase in warranty length. (and 've only had 8 bad ram sticks out of the last 130~150 sticks I have bought for me or customers in the last 6 years, and all but 2 were in the first year, most in the first month)

An additional note: The 3-year warranty is handled in-store at microcenter so you replace them quickly if they do go out.

Just wish EVGA would be a little up front with where these are from,im 100% intrested but the lack of a matching standard warranty makes me not willing to buy unless i know the quality .Shame really they look nice and seem priced fair.

It doesn't matter what evga warranty is for graphics cards, motherboards or power supplies, that is pointless information when were discussing memory. The warranty for evga RAM doesn't match industry standard. I guess you don't mind paying more for less.  Having to visit a local microcenter for warranty service isn't a good thing and will lower resell value too.

You have bought 130-150 sticks of memory in the past 6 years. Who do you work for?

I always get a kick out of people floating around their professional/home pc repair/building experience like it means a damn thing.  I'm getting ready to order two SuperMicro 1028GR-TRT servers with 2 Grid K2 cards and 256GB of RAM per server for a Xendesktop Deployment for VDI. Whoop de dooo.

You're missing the point entirely when you reference other products. It's about matching an INDUSTRY STANDARD. You don't come out of the gate with a new product that has a lesser warranty while being a rebrand of the same memory that otherwise would carry a lifetime warranty if it has a different sticker on it.   If should be a pretty simple decision that if a lifetime guarantee can be had for $10-15 more its an obvious choice.  I've been using the same corsair vengance ram for 5-6 years now and will continue to do so until I move onto DDR4 and even then it will still be covered.

My desire is to not criticize EVGA but to provide true and honest advice regarding products and any and all support they provide. If they want a leg up in expanding into new product offerings they should at least match the bare minimum that's already being offered.

I would also like details as to who's IC chips my new evga ssc ddr3 2400 memory has please this would be helpful  . when overclocking ram you need to know which IC's are being used.  I have know complains with the ram its very quick and XMP worked perfectly, I saw pictures of the IC's but they didn't have any part #.

I've never used the same ram for more than three years anyway, so the warranty means nothing to me. I am super excited about this ram. I just have to figure out a way to get it. No micro center in my town so I have to contact my brother-in-law to go pick it up and ship it to me. I will jump through the hoops though. One step closer to having a pure EVGA build.

I wonder, does EVGA have a lifetime warranty on anything now? Maybe they have a "no lifetime warranty" policy on everything or something now. Though if that was the case they could always give it a 100 year warranty and be good to go.. :)

I would have liked to try these out, but having in-store only with MicroCenter - forget it. No idea why we can't pay for shipping and have them delivered, or why EVGA aren't selling them themselves.. I'm guessing this is something MicroCenter have initiated so they have total control of it, and have EVGA fans come in to their shop so they can attempt some lame sales pitch to upsell some other products. Whatever. Having it available in-store only probably cut their sales by 75% or more by that act alone. How many people in this thread alone have been turned off by that? Most?

Regarding the 3 year warranty.. meh.. probably wouldn't be using them longer than that anyway, and at ~$100 a kit for 3 years, that's a whopping 9 cents a day.. well worth it imho, if they are of reasonable quality... if they continue to soldier on after 3 years, consider it a bonus. Of course if I was paying say $400 for the same kit, I'd expect a longer warranty. It's relative.

But you will find only Chemicon and Rubicon in CORSAIR PSU, nothing else...?
Their best Titanium PSU have at least 2 non Japanese capacitors inside, from China or some other country,
at least, maybe even 3 brands.
Same is with all Platinum models, except models made by Seasonic.

My impression of EVGA has always been that of a "boutique" company that specializes in a few products, but you can always count on the quality and attention to detail of what they do.  Which begs the question why they're "dipping their toes in" the memory market without great fanfare and clear technical specs to back up the product?  If they brought just a single line of memory to market, but did so confidently with firm specs to back up that product it would sell like hotcakes (see also: evga PSUs).  To me, this just looks like they got their hands on some "overstock" spare memory, painted it black, put a customized shroud on it, and sent it out on consignment. lol  Actually, what it actually looks like is they were in the planning phase to do a line of memory, picked up some stock to work with, and then the project fell through and they wanted to quietly unload the stock without eating the whole cost of materials... just a guess, though.

although fwiw, I think everybody is overemphasizing the warranty here.  When have you ever seen RAM hold its value for more than 3 years?  3 years from now the best RAM on today's market wouldn't be worth the cost of shipping for RMA, much less this mysterious "limited edition" stuff. ;)

The best RAM on the market today will be worth over $15 in 3 years from now.  I was looking at DDR2 PC2-6400 2x2GB sticks other day on ebay, they go for $25-40+ a set.

I am right in the middle of making a decision on a ram kit and I have a MicroCenter nearby (20 min)  Still on my X58 system I'm considering the 2133 2x4gb kit even though I don't think my memory controller could handle those speeds.  CL11 @ 1.6v isn't bad for that speed considering the rest on the market, but Crucial has a 8gb 1600MHz cl8.8.8.24 @ 1.35v.  I'm also curious what IC is being used, and at what nm.  If they are 20nm I might consider them without knowing the IC.
