Does anyone know of a GPU that can be run as a stand alone, dedicated for physX that is Cool and quiet? I was thinking a 750 ti FTW!

Yes I know I don't need a dedicated card, but I want one. I remember when I was playing planetside II with SLI 780... I had considerable fps drop with physX enable... and borderland 2 would stutter so much that I would need to dedicate one card to physX

My mbo is http://dlcdnwebsite.asus.com/existone/websites/global/products/RPOIwd0pKLoXnbFV/product_overview.jpg

So the 2 light color one on my motherboard is x16 what is the very dark color brownish looking slot?? Is it x8? Will the 750ti work there?

Please help!

The 750's do run cool and quiet. But I will say that I tried this with my 760's that were in 3 way SLI with a 750Ti FTW and because the 750 is Maxwell architecture and the 760's were Kepler the cores didn't play well together. So when I enabled SLI the 750 would disappear from Nvidia control panel. EVGA support even said this was a known issue between the different cores and basically it wouldn't work. You could try it with a low end 760 and see if that works though.

That great to hear. I just got a single Titan X reference SC and I want to run a 750 ti for physX... Adding another Titan X introduce a lot of heat from what I noticed with the SLI 780 b4 so I will just stick with one from now on and run a cool card on phys X.

From your experience Zophar, were you able to monitor the temperature of your 750 ti FTW and under heavy gaming load? What was it temperature as a dedicated physX card?
