Hi Folks,

I was going to try to squeeze a bit of extra power out of my card and I use Precision X. Any advice you have on overclocking?

Right now my card runs at full load at 1290mhz at around 66c with 80% fans running. I was hoping to get to 1400mhz. I am running on stock air cooling. I'm gonna let the fans run at 100%. I have some questions though.

1. Since I am boosting the clock by 110mhz, how much should I boost the memory speed by?
2. How will I know if I need to increase the power supply?
3. Does increasing power target to 110% actually do anything?

Thanks in advance! :)

power target is there for to increase the potential extra power draw to the card but if the card is already maxxing out its draw from the 6+8pin then it doesnt do much afaik

Funny you should post this. I have been tinkering all morning with mine and I could find zero info.

So far I have found that mine runs stable at +130mhz but memory will only stay stable at +80.

With that I can get 75 fps on Shadow of Mordor at 1440 DSR at 33%

However if I bump the voltage up two ticks (22v?) I get about 5 more fps.

I think my numbers may be low because I accidentally bought 8gig of ram instead of 16gig. More is on the way. When I try 4k dsr with those numbers, I get about 61fps with FXAA off but as soon as I get in-game it freezes.

Without the voltage up I get 50-60 ultra Witcher 3 with full settings @ 1440 dsr, 45 low when talking to an npc in doors with a full lock of hair. 60fps outside in White Orchard.

    Fans cranked to 70-75%.

    Trial and error
Best way you can find out what your card can do is if you take the time to do it yourself

I didn't. I used Nvidia Inspector and MSI Afterburner. I will try that out later. I'm not done tinkering yet.....lol.

    Tell me how it goes.

Ok man, after some testing here goes.

I am able to get the core up to 110 and memory at 50 with kboost on and I keep the fans at around 75%. Kboost has me running at 1400mhz then and at 4k with Shadow of Mordor on ultra with no FXAA, i'm getting 51fps. It seems to me that kboost keeps the framerate as smooth as butter. I've not done extensive ingame testing with this settings but I did fight a group of orcs and it did not freeze and ran smooth as butter with clock at around 1388mhz. Normally in SoM if the settings are not stable, i'm frozen before I jump off of the tower.  I hope this helps.

    How are your results?

I gave up when I kept freezing my computer up. I have been using Nvidia's power management set to "prefer maximum performance" to keep the GPU running at full clock when 3D applications are running. I turned Kboost off. It looks like it still downclocks a little, but only around 20 mhz. Basically I'm getting 1290 - 1270mhz when running Witcher 3 at 2160p. I get around 50 - 45 fps. I have hairworks off and only SSAO enables(no HBAO). I also have anti-aliasing off because at 2160p it's not worth the performance hit.

I'm going to play around with OC some more when I have more time, but right now I'm okay with this setup since it's stable.

Ok, cool. I had the same problems. If you turn the power limit all the way up to 110% (I think that was what was causing all of the crashes by having it 100 and then it going over), and then the core to 110 and memory can probably go higher but I keep it at 50 for now. I will tinker with it more, you should have a stable experience as well. Keep me updated.

I just downloaded the HD texture pack for SoM and I get 45-50fps with it on. It's so dag on pretty.

I just ran Witcher 3 @ 1440p with everything maxed and was getting 45-60, and with hairworks off 60-70 with drops when you swim. I think I will stick with these settings for a while.
