Just purchased an open box EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ from Microcenter...or at-least I think and hope I did.
I noticed the Warranty sticker looked funky (like someone removed and replaced it) compared it to the one on the box in-store and everything matched.
Once I got home I looked closer at the card and noticed there's another sticker
The Black & White Warranty Sticker with the Model and Serial says P/N: 04G-P4-3975-
KROpposite the inputs on the back of the card, not too far away from the warranty sticker there is another Black and Darker White sticker that says 04G-P4-3975-
B6 And I am worried since it looks like it was tampered with and I used to work retail, so I am aware of what people can and do.
My fear is that someone wanted to upgrade to the 2.0+ from the 2.0 and didn't want to pay so they purchased a 2.0+, took their 2.0 out, swapped the stickers, repackaged it in the 2.0+ box, and returned it for their money back.
Please tell me I am worried over nothing, I really want to install this card, RIGHT NOW, but I want to make sure.
A google search shows me several overseas (Asia, Australia, German, and Latin America) EVGA pages that say "Product Specs," all the cards listed has a "PDF coming soon" next to it!
I have no idea what it means. Can someone explain to me what the different parts of the part number mean?
04G Looks like
the series, Titan is 12G so 04G must be the GTX9XX series
P4 might mean
full size since many of the low profile cards are labeled P3
3975 Looks like the actual
model number since it looks like it's unique to the model, in this case EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+
KR/B6 Is the only one I can't figure out. Most of the newer cards are KR. The only ones on EVGA product page that aren't KR are OLD Geforce 6200 and older cards that are LR, and even those don't seem to have a real pattern.
Please help!
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
