Any idea how to fix or normal? It take like 30 sec or more to load and while this is happening it cripples some task. Things become laggy example when i type huge delay.
 
BTW im on 5.3.0
 
Im on SSD and minimum start up everything loads instantly except Precision

I want it to load at stat up i don't have any other issues i disable it and boot is fine.
 
I also tried prev version 5.2.9 same thing ill go back couple more if not ill deal with it i guess but giving heads up that this happens. It doesn't happen with MSI AB but i personally don't like that software.

Nothing to post for settings fresh install of the EVGA Precision X all i did was tick load at start up.
 
Also fresh install of windows 8.1 from last week with literally 2 3rd party programs that includes Precision loading a start up.
And no other monitoring software loading at start up i was just saying I installed and tested MSI AF to see if it happened with that also and it didn't.
 
This software increased boot time by about 30 sec and during this process some things lag including typing. Thinking maybe its looking online for update i set never to check doesn't help

Same issue here its gotten worse.  Ive basically reinstalled Windows 8.1, drivers, updates, and precision X 16 5.3.1.  Right after I log in my keyboard input is extremely slow for ~15 seconds there is a huge typing lag (as soon as I log in I open notepad, npad++, or firefox and can clearly see typing lag as I mash keys).  All the keys I pressed will eventually catch up all at once after ~15 secounds.  This only happens with PrecisionX enabled (either just startup settings or starting the whole app with windows).

No other monitoring software or any software except for Windows 8.1, Drivers, and all OS updates.
 
Now this issue appears in older versions but lasts only 2 seconds or so (like 5.2.5 and 5.2.7).  Uninstalling PrecisionX 16 will remove this issue.  I have also tried 2 other keyboards and uninstalled the corsair/logitech software with no change with the above behavior. Of the few previous versions I can find it seemed like 5.2.7 was the best.  I also tried that other popular GPU overclocking software which works with no issues as well but I'd rather not use that software unless I have to.

I am experiencing the same issues as mentioned by the topic starter. Using EVGA Precision Version 5.3.1
Windows 8.1 comes on then on desktop everything goes slow, including typing. Disabled it and no more "lag". When I startup (manually) Precision it's the same thing.

Until this is resolved I will be going to try Afterburner.

I've been trying to figure out why my PC typing was lagged and SSD active time is pegged at 100% during the first 20-30 seconds after logging into Windows. After disabling the start-up task and looking around I found this post.
 
It's definitely EVGA Precision X and has been happening for the last few months. Good thing it's not vital. I'm leaving it disabled until it's fixed. I also use profiles and have it start-up at log in.

I'm having this issue too. HUGE typing delay when I start up my computer and 99% disk usage. My girlfriend booted it up and even said "isnt this thing supposed to be really fast?" LOL with a GTX970 and fairly modern i5 I would want people to think this is at least better than my family's pentium 4. But this slow startup brings my computer to its knees.
 
I do have an SSD for my main windows drive (I saw people seem to have that in common with this issue). I also load overclock profiles.

I attempted to reproduce this on our test bench, but I was unable to with:
 
Windows 7 on an SSD
PrecisionX 5.2.3
X79 Dark
GTX 760 with ou without an overclock profile
 
I tried having it start with Windows both minimized and not, with and without a profile loaded, and I had no delays at all with startup in any way (launching program, typing, hangs while something loaded, etc.).
 
I would suggest uninstalling PrecisionX, then navigating to Program Files(x86)>EVGA and deleting the PrecisionX file, then reinstalling PrecisionX and see if that helps at all. There may be an old file that's gumming things up. Don't forget to write down any setting you put in PrecisionX, as you will lose them doing this.

 
Try another test bed with Windows 8.1? People complaining are on 8.1 if you might have missed that. You guys should have 2 different test benches any ways. One for 7 and one for 8.1

Thanks Jason, I'm also on windows 8.1 if that helps. I'll try uninstalling and re-installing (and deleting that file)

Experience this as well- Windows 8.1, 64-bit, GTX 980 TI (but occurred on 680 as well when I had that). When PrecisionX is starting up, there is "typing lag" and general slowdown until the program loads. 

Facing this issue for a long time now. The only solution for me is to stick to an older version of precision X (5.2.4) Versions up to 5.2.8 are okay'ish, but still short input lag on startup. From version 5.2.9 and up the problem becomes very annoying, with input lag for like 30 seconds on startup.  
 
I had this problem on windows 8.1 and as of today on windows 10. Clean install, minimum of 3rd party software etc. Would be nice if you can look into it, if you need more information, let me know. 

Been having this issue for awhile now. I thought it was just me and started reading online and noticed I wasn't the only one. Kills my boot time when I have to wait for evga precision to load. I try typing as soon as I am booting and m,y typing is delayed etc..

I hope this gets fixed soon as this is an absolute PITA on both windows 8.1 and 10. Didn't try it on Win7.

Tried this on Win 8.1 and Windows 10 - getting 30-60 seconds of input lag until the Precision X appears in the system tray.

Ayup - tried on fresh installs of Win 8.1 and Win 10; Precision X is v5.3.7  (assume that's what you mean)
