It sounds like you may have a (possible) corrupted BIOS.  Have you tried booting from a different BIOS chip?  I'm sure you're aware there are 3 to select from.

Follow this link to get the latest BIOS file for the X79 Dark.  Revision 2.13.  >>  http://forums.evga.com/X79-BIOS-updates-m2238203.aspx

I find using the Windows method quite simple and have used it for flashing every BIOS revision since the board was released.  EVGA has written a brief instruction on how to do a "Windows Flash" and is included in this link.

You can follow any other form of flashing if you prefer.  There are USB instructions included as well.

I usually leave #3 bios position at stock just in case.
Put a usb stick in and boot up into bios. Then take screen shots of the main bios page and the mem page using F12 key. They will be bmp format on the usb drive,  so convert them to jpeg and post them here.
Maybe there is something in auto settings that should be set manually.

I would recommend that update your Bios to 2.13 as bdary stated above. 2.04 is very old.
As a low I would not go below 2.11 Bios but if you can get into your Bios as you show above update it to 2.13.
For me it has been rock solid under Bios 2.13.
    This is your Memory http://www.kingston.com/us/hyperx/memory/dual_channel?
With this memory have you selected XMP Profile 1 in the Bios?

ok I have now flashed my first bios switch to the latest version, it seems to be all working fine but u will find out in the morning when I wake up as sometimes the computer will work fine if I use it time to time but if it is off for maybe about a hour or more then it goes in to C state that is what I noticed before but I will see what happens since I have flashed.

    thank you everyone :D

How is your Battery on the MB?
You did also check for Bent CPU Pins in the CPU Socket yes?
Also what it the Make and Model of your Power Supply and AGE?

Do you have your GPU installed in the primary slot?  The top PCIe slot closest to the CPU socket.  It doesn't look like it in your pics.  If not, try it there just to verify if it makes any difference or not.

At least for testing things out and trying to get you up and running, move the GPU to the primary slot and enable "ALL" PCIe slots for now.  The GPU should fit in slot 1 even with the I/O cover.  There are many of us with the Dark board using slot 1 with no problem.  It's a close fit, but does fit.

Let us know how it goes...

I have three Titans install on my X79 Dark and have the I/O Shield install and my Titans have back plates installed.
Set your Bios to GEN 3, it shows under your older bios images a Gen 1

Release your CPU Cooler Mounting Screws back one half turn on all fore screws.

I don't suppose you could get your hands on another 2011 (SB-e/IB-e) CPU?  Or a different X79 board to test your current CPU on?

Can you still boot up fine (to Windows) by pressing the reset CMOS button on the board as you stated in your 1st post?

What happens if you remove those USB 3.0 wires?  That would be easy enough to determine if it's the cause or not.

The only other thing I can think of you may want to double check is that your wires from the case front panel I/O (power, reset, etc.) are connected properly to the header on the motherboard.  Positive side to positive, negative to negative where it applies.  No connectors unplugged at the header as well.  Stuff like that.  May be a long shot, but worth a look.

I've RMA my board 3 this me because of this same issue, nothing works, tried doing everything listed in this thread many many times, bought new CPU, gpu , ram and PSU, tried liquid/ fan_heatsink cooling, NOTHING fixes this issue. EVGA doesn't care to look into it either
